You might have heard us talk about subluxation. Subluxation is a pattern of neurological dysfunction that disrupts the signals between your child’s brain and body. It’s the hidden root cause behind so many chronic health challenges in kids, but it doesn’t show up on traditional tests.

That’s why Neurologically-Focused Chiropractors use INSiGHT Scans to measure things traditional imaging and testing often miss:
Nervous system stress patterns
Neuromuscular imbalance
Autonomic dysfunction + dysregulation

And that difference matters for kids struggling with sensory challenges, emotional dysregulation, chronic illness, developmental delays, sleep issues, or focus problems.

If you’re starting to sound like Dwight, then listen up!

While society has somehow normalized women just silently “pushing through” this season of life, we need to do better to SUPPORT. Perimenopause and menopause are not the end of vitality, they are seasons of recalibration and transition. This is an incredibly important time to support the nervous system because of the huge role it plays in stress adaptation, sleep, mood, emotions regulation, healing, and overall hormonal health.

At Pax, we want women to know they are strong, resilient, and we are here for them! If you or someone you know, sounds like Dwight, send us a DM or call our office to learn more about how we may help!!

We are so passionate about chiropractic during the postpartum season of life and Dr. Gabrielle explains why! Supporting your nervous system during postpartum aids in healing, recovery, regulation, feeding, sleep, and caring for your family during this season.

If you’re a postpartum mama, this message is for YOU!

Flowers, baby clothes, diapers, and sweet gifts are all so beautiful and important during postpartum! New moms deserve to feel loved, celebrated, and cared for during one of the biggest transitions of their lives. But what are some of the unspoken things a postpartum mom truly needs?

She needs rest.
She needs support.
She needs community.
She needs people checking on her.
And she needs nervous system care.

The postpartum period is one of the most neurologically demanding seasons a woman will ever walk through. Hormones are shifting rapidly, sleep is interrupted, the body is healing, emotions are heightened, and a mother’s nervous system is constantly adapting to the needs of her baby.

When a mom’s nervous system is overwhelmed and stuck in stress mode, it can impact everything from emotional regulation, healing, sleep, digestion, energy, and overall resilience during postpartum. This is why nervous system support matters so much during this season. A regulated nervous system helps moms better adapt, recover, connect, and truly heal instead of just surviving.

So yes, bring the flowers, but also bring the support. Bring the encouragement. Bring the reminder that she matters too. Send this to a postpartum mama who deserves to feel supported today. 🤍

No one talks enough about how intense the postpartum period can be on a woman’s nervous system.

Hormonal shifts, sleep deprivation, physical healing, emotional changes, constant stimulation, learning your baby while also trying to rediscover yourself, the list goes on and on! It’s one of the most demanding transitions a woman can experience, yet so many moms are expected to “bounce back” while running on empty.

At Pax, we believe postpartum care matters deeply. Supporting the nervous system during this season can help moms better adapt, regulate, heal, and feel more connected during the fourth trimester. 🤍

If you know a new mama walking through this season right now, send this to her so she knows she’s seen, supported, and not alone.

Samantha originally came to Pax looking for support with pelvic and hip discomfort during pregnancy, and since starting care she has experienced less pain, better sleep, improved mood, and the ability to stay more active throughout her pregnancy. “From the beginning Drs. Trey & Gabrielle have been great address any issues I have had and make sure to educate you throughout the whole process. I look forward to continuing my treatment through the reminder of my pregnancy and after.”

Pregnancy places a huge demand on the body and nervous system, which is why so many moms are surprised by how much support chiropractic care can provide throughout this season. We are so honored to support Samantha and mamas like her during such an important chapter of life.🤍

Why are so many moms getting adjusted during pregnancy?! Here’s why! ⬇️

1. Neuro-biomechanical changes of the pelvis

During pregnancy, your body is constantly adapting and your nervous system is coordinating all of it. As baby grows, changes in posture, pelvic balance, and spinal movement naturally occur for mom, requiring constant communication between the brain, muscles, ligaments, and organs. When there is excess tension and stress within the nervous system, those adaptations can become more difficult. Nervous system-focused chiropractic care helps support proper communication between the brain and body so the spine and pelvis can move and adapt more efficiently, creating optimal space for both mom and baby throughout pregnancy.

2. Decrease stress in the body

The chiropractic adjustment allows for a well-functioning nervous system! It allows for a balance of the mother’s parasympathetic nervous system (rest + digest) and sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight). Therefore, this allows mother and baby to better adapt to the stresses of pregnancy and life!

3. Prepare for a safer and easier labor and delivery

Pregnant mothers under consistent chiropractic care have shown to decrease labor time by 25% for first time moms and by 31% for the second delivery. Additionally, chiropractic care has decreased the need for medical intervention during labor and delivery. By restoring the body’s natural way of functioning, chiropractic has an essential role in pregnancy and birth outcomes!

A well-supported nervous system helps create the foundation for a more connected and adaptable pregnancy experience.

If you’re preparing your body for pregnancy, there’s one system that deserves way more attention than it gets: your Nervous System!

Your nervous system influences how your body adapts to stress, regulates hormones, and communicates internally. When the body is constantly operating in a stressed state, it can become harder for the body to shift into the state needed to support reproduction, regulation, and adaptation.

This is one of the reasons we care so deeply about preconception chiropractic care at Pax. By supporting nervous system function before and during pregnancy, we help create a stronger foundation for mom’s health, healing, and overal adaptability throughout the journey. Send us a DM to learn more!

*And remember mama, if you’re already pregnant, you are NOT behind. Your body is always capable of healing, adapting, and receiving support.*
