Our most important service = Oral Cancer Screening

Common Question: How many times have you caught cancer in your practice?

Answer: We perform an oral cancer screen as a regular part of our doctor checkup every 6 months (or anytime upon request). Over the past 17 years, we have detected 5 cancers and ordered biopsy for several others deemed pre-cancerous. In most cases, these are otherwise healthy folks who have been seeing us twice a year for years and then the next exam, presented with an abnormality.

Residency at Harvard—particularly Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital Oncology—fine tuned our attentiveness and evaluation technique.

This is a service included in biannual dentist checkup during regular cleaning visits that we are proud to offer.

A towering height, successful business, crystalline eyes and signature boot collection requires a smile to match. Some treatment steps may have been performed from a ladder...

Diligent Case Planning: A full mouth reconstruction with increase tooth dimension starts with a careful work up, including TMJ/airway scan with orthodontist Dr. Grace Simco whereby exact height increase is calculated with respect to optimized anatomical considerations.

This measurement, along with detailed photos, radiographs and digital scans, is shared with our master ceramist Masa who creates the new proposed design.

Treatment: Teeth are prepared and copy of new design is worn as provisional teeth while ceramist creates the final porcelain teeth.

Bottom teeth porcelain restorations are tried on and verified, then completed. Upper teeth are then completed to perfectly complement esthetics and function.

Follow up is performed to verify function and tissue development and capture a photo or two for those willing.

A smile makeover and/or reconstruction can require subtle or dramatic change or anywhere in between. You will have the opportunity to wear your intended smile design while our Master Ceramist creates the final restorations in porcelain. Safe rule: Expect 48 hours for your brain to adjust to your new look. Before that, many feel a sense of “imposter syndrome”. Have patience and trust yourself (and us!!)

This wonderful gentleman needed something strong, secure and realistic in his face-forward career that takes him around the world, all the while waiting for implants to integrate into the bone beneath. We placed these temporary/provisional teeth with a secure yet removable cement so that he could carry on with confidence in the interim. The design suited him and was copied in the final set.
