📚☕ A little something for your weekend reading list…

Ever find yourself wondering, “Why does dealing with this person leave me SO drained?” 😵‍💫

Linda recommends The Highly Sensitive Person’s Guide to Dealing with Toxic People by Shahida Arabi, MA.

This book explores why manipulative, narcissistic, or emotionally unhealthy relationships can feel especially overwhelming when you’re highly sensitive or empathic, and offers practical strategies for recognizing manipulation, setting stronger boundaries, trusting your own perceptions, and stepping away from unhealthy relationship patterns.

And one part we especially appreciate: being sensitive isn’t the problem that needs fixing. 💜

Sometimes protecting your peace isn’t about becoming less sensitive. It’s about becoming more selective about who gets access to you.

✨ That’s a wrap on the EMDR International Association Conference 2026! ✨

The theme of this year’s conference asked, “What Moves You?” For Michelle, that question feels especially meaningful. 💜

Her EMDR journey began right here at Interpersonal Wellness.

Inspired by the work of therapists at Interpersonal Wellness who use EMDR in their practice, and seeing firsthand the impact this approach can have, Michelle decided she wanted to learn more. That curiosity eventually led her to pursue EMDR training herself with Olivia Lynch of Empowered Journey and Michelle Ehrler, LCSW Michelle | LCSW | EMDR ☀️🌼💛 … and this weekend, the three of them were together again at the EMDRIA Conference. 🥹

Talk about a full-circle moment.

From being inspired by the work around her, to becoming EMDR trained, to spending three days learning, connecting, and diving even deeper into trauma treatment alongside the people who helped teach her… what a journey.

And when asked What Moves You?, Michelle added her own words to the conference wall:

💙 “Unconditional positive regard.”

Because sometimes the people, experiences, and work that move us are exactly what lead us toward what’s next.

We’re so proud of Michelle for continuing to learn, grow, and bring that passion back home to Interpersonal Wellness. 💜

Michelle fan-girl’d today at the conference. 😂💜

When one of your TikTok favorites, Jennifer Ann Counseling, just happens to be in the same training as you at the EMDR International Association Conference… obviously you have to get the picture! 📸

Learning, connecting, meeting people who inspire you… and apparently having a little fan-girl moment along the way. 😍

💜 Checking in from the 2026 EMDR International Association Conference!

Our very own Michelle Weinstein is spending three full days immersed in learning, connection, and all things EMDR and trauma treatment.

In Michelle’s words:

“3 full days of learning, connecting, and diving deeper into trauma treatment and EMDR. So much great information already on day 1 — and we’re just getting started! Excited to bring new insights, skills, and ideas back to my clients.”

We love seeing that excitement for learning and growth — and we can’t wait to hear more as the conference continues! 💜

Healing doesn’t erase what happened. 💜

For many people, healing is about reaching a place where past experiences no longer have the same power over how they feel, respond, or move forward.

With the EMDR International Association Conference happening this week in California, it feels like the perfect time to highlight the important work being done in trauma treatment and the continued learning happening within the EMDR community.

At Interpersonal Wellness, we believe healing can mean moving forward while honoring where you’ve been. 💜

📸 Today is World Photography Day.

Sometimes a photo captures more than a beautiful view. It captures a moment when we stopped, looked around, and were fully there.

This breathtaking view was captured by our own Linda Tran and it felt like the perfect reminder today:

Notice what’s around you.
Take in the view.
Be present in the moment. 💜

Sometimes caring for our mental wellness can be as simple as giving ourselves permission to pause and appreciate what’s right in front of us.

Happy World Photography Day! 📷

☕ Okay, here’s the tea…

Setting a boundary doesn’t mean someone has to like it.

A healthy boundary isn’t about controlling someone else’s reaction. It’s about being clear about what you need, what you’re comfortable with, and what you’re willing to accept.

And yes… sometimes a healthy boundary can feel uncomfortable at first. 💜

A little reminder from Cecilia Rodrigues, LMFT, that protecting your peace doesn’t always come with everyone’s approval.
