Self-care Matters

Beets are an incredibly nutritious and versatile vegetable with many health benefits. Here are some of the top reasons why you might want to include more beets in your diet:

Rich in Nutrients, Low in Calories: Beets contain essential vitamins and minerals, including folate, manganese, copper, potassium, magnesium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, and iron. They're also low in calories and fat, making them a great addition to any meal1.

Support Heart Health: Beets' high concentration of nitrates can help lower blood pressure by dilating blood vessels and improving blood flow, reducing the risk of heart disease1.

Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Beets contain pigments called betalains, which have strong anti-inflammatory effects. These compounds can help reduce inflammation and might benefit those with chronic inflammatory conditions.

Improve Digestive Health: Beets are high in fiber, aiding digestion. A fiber-rich diet can also help prevent constipation, keep your digestive system healthy, and lower the risk of certain diseases.

Boost Athletic Performance: The nitrates in beets can enhance athletic performance by improving the efficiency of mitochondria, which produce energy in your cells.

Support Brain Health: Beet nitrates also improve blood flow to the brain, which can help improve cognitive function and potentially reduce the risk of dementia.

May Have Anti-Cancer Properties: Some studies suggest that the antioxidants and other compounds in beets may help reduce the risk of certain cancers by protecting cells from damage.

Beets can be enjoyed in various ways, such as juicing, roasting, boiling, or incorporating them into salads and soups.
