Hot and humid conditions continue today with a Heat Advisory in effect for the entire area. High temperatures will be in the mid and upper 90s with heat index values of 105 to 112. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop again this afternoon. A few strong storms are possible with gusty winds, frequent lightning and very heavy rain.

Happy ! While Prairie coneflower (Ratibida pinnata) is most common in the prairies and limestone glades of the midwestern US, its southernmost range dips into Florida’s Panhandle. This adaptable species can be a nice addition to wildflower gardens or meadows in North Florida. Its sunny flowers support numerous pollinators, and its seeds feed songbirds.
