Barbara A. Menago (Ledbetter), 81, born July 21, 1945 of Nicholson, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Born and raised in Beauregard, Alabama, Barbara eventually settled in Northeast Pennsylvania after traveling the country as a military wife and mother.
Barbara was a strong, loving woman of God. Her faith in the Lord was evident in the way she carried herself and the joy she brought to those around her. She took great pride in being a mother, but her favorite title was “Granny.”
She was well known for her winter hat, which she wore year-round, her bright yellow Pontiac, and her undying love for sweets. The last few years of her life brought many challenges, but just as she had with everything else life handed her, she faced them with such grace and resilience.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Shelby Karp; her son-in-law, Jeff Karp; her granddaughter, Celene Vanvleck; and her great-grandson, Clayton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Flora and Lester Ledbetter; her sister, Shirley Baker; and her brothers, Earl, L.E., and Jimmy Ledbetter.
Barbara lived a life filled with beautiful memories that will be cherished by her loved ones forever. Her passing brings immeasurable pain and sadness to her family. She shared an especially close bond with her granddaughter, and the void left by her absence will forever remain.
Yet, through the heartache, the greatest comfort comes from knowing the relief she felt to finally get to hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Barbara will forever be missed and never forgotten. Her love, her faith, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral services will be Monday October 19th at 11am in the funeral home.
Family and friends may call from 10am until service time.
Interment will follow the service in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
