Some are wondering how our tea differs from our dried, chipped root. They're both purely Rhodiola root, so why the separate product and pricing? Basically, it's due to size and medicinal potency. While the big chips are saved for our 1lb dried root orders, the tea is made from the fines that are sifted out! Here's one of three different methods to brew our Rhodiola tea! (Find the others on the product page linked below.)

HERBAL INFUSION METHOD (yields a gentler, less bitter tea)

What’s Needed:
– A tea pot or teacup, plus a mesh or metal strainer if desired
– Dried Rhodiola rosea roots
– Water just below a boil (~185℉)
– Optional additions like honey, milk, or lemon

Instructions:
1. Measure 2 tsp for each desired cup of tea into a teacup or a tea pot if making
more than one cup (2 tsp root for each 8oz water). Use a mesh bag or fine
metal strainer if you have one and crush the roots for better brewing.
If you want a stronger decoction, use 1 Tbsp per 8oz water.

2. Pour very hot water over roots and steep covered for 5-15 minutes
depending on desired strength (5 for a light cup, 15 for stronger tea).

3. Once steeped and slightly cooled add honey, or an alternative to sweeten if
desired. Other great additions are lemon or milk.
As a stimulant, Rhodiola may interfere with sleep, so it’s best to drink your
tea earlier in the day.

4. If you prepared a large pot to last you the week, cover and store in
fridge. Rhodiola tea can be enjoyed as a tonic warm or cold but do not re-
boil the brewed tea to not deteriorate medicinal compounds. The roots can
be used for a second and third brewing, getting milder with each pour.
