Time moves fast and I didn't realize it had been so long since my last post on this page.
Sully standing by the field in the back yard. He is now 2.5 years old and doing well !!

Introducing our new Associate Dr. Sullivan, we call him Sully for short. Sully has been a part of the office for the last 2 months and is still in training but is coming along just fine and growing fast.....His energy and enthusiasm is second to none and we are looking forward to the energy he brings to Dixon Chiropractic!!

The Chiropractic Adjustment More Than Just a Pop!

A high velocity low amplitude thrust put into a specific spinal segment with the intention of restoring a subluxated vertebra to its normal position, effecting the flow of nerve impulses.
That single impulse delivered into a specific vertebra has a ripple effect throughout the entire body.... Imagine dropping a rock in a puddle of water, not only is there the point of impact but a dissemination of ripples across the small puddle.
The Chiropractic Adjustment sends an impulse into the spine causing nerve impulses to travel throughout the body, creating a cascade of electrical and chemical reactions to the cerebral cortex for processing.

I was listening to an old B.J. Palmer audio from the 1950's and I began to think back to when I was just a kid. The whole family would get in the car to make the 4 hr trip to Davenport Iowa so my dad could attend Palmer yearly Home Coming.
I often wonder now what it would have been like for my dad and I to make that trip now!! Listening to some good Chiropractic Philosophy, the advances in research, sharing the same passion.

He was the first in a family of five Chiropractors. A 1964 graduate of Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport Iowa.
I remember from a young age he would always say even in the difficult times that this was the greatest profession on the planet.
It was through his love for this profession Chiropractic that he inspired others to pursue the profession that he dedicated 36 years to before his passing..
