Why does my vision sometimes get blurry⌠and then clear again when I blink? đď¸
One common reason is your tear film.
Every time you blink, a fresh layer of tears spreads across the front surface of your eye. That smooth tear layer helps light focus clearly. If the tear film becomes unstable or breaks up too quickly, vision can start to look blurry, hazy, or fluctuate.
Then you blink againâand for a moment, things may look clearer.
Fluctuating vision like this can sometimes be associated with:
⢠dry eye
⢠screen time and reduced blinking
⢠contact lens wear
⢠irritation of the eye surface
⢠meibomian gland dysfunction
⢠environmental dryness or airflow
It doesnât always mean you simply need a stronger glasses prescription.
If your vision frequently clears after blinking, especially along with burning, watering, grittiness, redness, or eye fatigue, it may be worth evaluating the health of the eyeâs surface and tear film.
At Rejuvenate Light & Vision Center, we look beyond âWhich is betterâ1 or 2?â to help determine why your vision is fluctuating in the first place.
