Kids Connection Club is coming back, and this time we’re doing things a little differently. 🐴

Seasons on the Farm. 🍂❄️🌱

From October through April, these kids are going to experience what life on the farm actually looks like as the seasons change.

In the fall, we prepare.
Through the winter, we provide.
And when spring comes, we grow.

Animals still need cared for when it’s cold. Things still need done when it’s muddy. And there’s a whole lot kids can learn from being part of all of it.

This is hands-on. Ground-based. No riding. Just kids, animals, responsibility, connection and plenty of farm experiences along the way.

We only have 10 spots total and 3 are already filled.

Today I want to talk about hope.

And not the kind where everything suddenly feels better or you know everything is going to be okay.

Sometimes hope is getting up and doing it again today.

Feeding the animals. Going to work. Answering the phone. Making a plan for next weekend. Laughing when you didn’t think you felt like laughing.

Sometimes we’re so focused on how hard things are that we don’t even recognize the little things that are still pulling us forward.

Maybe hope isn’t always something you feel.

Sometimes it’s just the fact that you’re still here. Still going. 💜

We said sunup to sundown and that’s exactly what we did. 💜

We were here before the sun came up, sitting in the pasture waiting for a sunrise the clouds never let us see.

And now it’s sundown. We didn’t get the sunset on the back trails like I planned either.

Instead, I’m sitting in the barn listening to the rain hit the tin roof while the horses rest and the dogs sleep.

And you know what… I think this might be just as amazing. 💜

Su***de prevention doesn’t always look like having the right words. Sometimes it looks like making sure someone doesn’t have to be alone with the hard ones. 💜

Tomorrow is World Su***de Prevention Day. 💜

Over the last few months, and especially throughout September, I’ve talked a lot about the things that can come before su***de. Grief. Isolation. Illness. Feeling like a burden. Losing hope. Carrying too much for too long.

Tomorrow I don’t just want to talk about it.

From sun up to sun down, Mending Broken Bits is opening our doors at no cost to anyone who just needs somewhere to be for a while.

I’ll be watching the sun rise from the pasture and watching it set from the far back trails. Somewhere in between, you’ll probably find me in a pasture with the horses.

If you come, the liability waivers will be on the table in the middle of the barn. Sign one and come find us.

You don’t have to tell me why you’re here. You don’t have to talk at all if you don’t want to.

Sit in the quiet barn. Walk the property. Spend some time with the horses. Talk if you want to. Be quiet if you want to.

Today is 988 Day. 💜

This is one of those numbers I think everybody should know.

Maybe you’ll never need it for yourself. Maybe someday you’ll need it for your child, your friend, or someone who calls you and you have no idea what to say.
