From our very own Baili Hart and our Witham Suburban Home Health team:
Today, during case conference, the Witham team was joined by Lebanon Resident and councilman Mike Kincaid. Mike provided us with a motivational talk based on Don Clifton’s book “How Full is Your Bucket” The team discussed how filling the buckets of others with our words and actions makes for happier, healthier people! Additionally, we wrote notes to co-workers and filled each other’s buckets.

My friend Mike is awesome, and I’ve heard him speak on this topic numerous times. He is in Kiwanis with me, a local realtor, local business owner and fun fact: 9th degree black belt in karate! 🥋

⛳ Fore a Great Cause! ⛳
Suburban Health at Home had an absolute blast sponsoring a hole at CarDon's golf outing benefiting the Alzheimer's Association, supporting Hamilton Trace and this incredible cause!

Our own Megan and Abbey from Suburban Home Health spent the day on the course handing out treats and good vibes to golfers as they made their way through the round. From sunshine to smiles, it was the perfect day to tee up for a cause that means so much to so many families.

A huge thank you to CarDon and Hamilton Trace for putting together such a wonderful event, and to everyone who came out to swing for a cure. Every putt, drive, and donation helps move us closer to a future without Alzheimer's.
Until the next hole-in-one for a good cause — see you on the green! 🏌️‍♀️🏌️

💙 A Time to Remember, A Time to Heal 💙
This week, Suburban Hospice was honored to host the Shelbyville YMCA Summer Memorial Service — a gathering created to hold space for grief, celebrate cherished memories, and remind every family in attendance that they are not walking this journey alone.

Loss changes us, but it does not have to isolate us. Moments like this one allow our community to come together, share stories, and find comfort in knowing that the lives of their loved ones continue to be honored long after they're gone.

None of this would have been possible without the heart and dedication behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you to Charlie and Logan, whose tireless planning and attention to every detail created a service that was both meaningful and healing for everyone who walked through the doors. Your hard work does not go unnoticed — thank you for pouring so much care into this. And to Jamie, who planned and executed the food with the same warmth and intention — thank you for nourishing not just our guests, but the spirit of community in the room.

This is what makes our team so special. Every single person who supports our patients and families, whether at the bedside or behind a memorial service table, is part of the reason families trust us with their most vulnerable moments. We are endlessly grateful for the privilege of walking alongside our patients and families through life's most difficult transitions.

To everyone who attended: thank you for trusting us with your grief, your memories, and your hearts. We see you, we honor your loved ones alongside you, and we are here for you, today and always.

🎉 What a groovy celebration! 🎉

Yesterday, our very own Sarah Bradley represented Suburban Health at Home at CenterWell College Park's 2nd birthday celebration — and it was a blast from the past! The event was decked out in 1960s and 70s style, with tie-dye, flowers, bellbottoms, and peace signs everywhere you looked.

Sarah was able to soak up all the far-out community vibes. And of course, she came dressed to the nines — she never needs a second invitation to fully commit to a theme!

Thank you to CenterWell College Park for hosting such a wonderful event, and congratulations on two amazing years serving the community. Here's to many more groovy celebrations ahead!

You truly never know what a day in home health looks like until you live it. ❤

One of our Suburban Home Health team members went out for what started as a completely normal patient visit... and came back to find a very enthusiastic, very muddy pig giving their car a full spa treatment.

Apparently the pig got loose, spotted the car, and decided it was the perfect scratching post. We are not sure the car feels the same way.

This is home health. We show up through the rain, the mud, the unexpected farm animal car washes, and everything in between — because our patients and the unforgettable moments we share with them (and apparently their livestock) make every single day worth it.

Mud washes off. The memories do not.

Thank you to our incredible Suburban Home Health team for always bringing heart, humor, and a great attitude to every visit — no matter what is waiting for them in the driveway. 🐖

🌟 CNA Week Employee Spotlight 🌟

As we celebrate CNA Week, we're honored to recognize the caregivers whose compassion and dedication make a lasting impact every day. Meet Darlene Cole, CNA/Hospice Aide, who will celebrate 4 years with Suburban Hospice on August 1st and brings an incredible 35 years of caregiving experience to her role!

💙 What inspired Darlene to become a CNA and Hospice Aide?
Darlene shares that a mentor encouraged her to pursue a career as a CNA, and she loved it from the very beginning. More than three decades later, she continues to serve patients and families with the same passion and commitment that first drew her to the profession.

🚣‍♀️ A little about Darlene outside of work:
When she’s not caring for patients, Darlene enjoys kayaking and spending quality time with her family.

✨ What is the most rewarding part of her role?
“I like to make a difference by helping patients find comfort and maintain quality of life during their journey. Supporting families through this time is rewarding as well.”

💡 Words of encouragement for those considering a career in hospice care:
“Hospice care prioritizes comfort and quality of life for patients with terminal illnesses. Hospice caregivers provide crucial support not only to patients but also to their families during challenging times. It’s meaningful work and allows caregivers to make a significant difference in the lives of those they serve.”

❤️ Thank you, Darlene, for your years of service, compassionate care, and unwavering dedication to helping patients and families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments. Your kindness and commitment truly embody the heart of hospice care.

🌟 CNA Week Employee Spotlight 🌟

This CNA Week, we're proud to recognize the compassionate caregivers who make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients every day. Meet Lexi Blaylock, who has been a dedicated member of the Suburban Home Health team for approximately 1½ years!

💙 What inspired Lexi to become a CNA and work in Home Health?
Growing up, Lexi watched her mother care for her grandparents and began helping when she was old enough. That experience inspired her passion for caregiving. She later volunteered in a healthcare setting and has worked in healthcare ever since.

Lexi loves Home Health because it allows her to truly get to know each patient, spend quality time with them, and meet their needs without feeling rushed.

👩‍👧‍👦 A little about Lexi outside of work:
When she's not caring for patients, Lexi is a full-time mom to four children who keep her busy and on her toes!

✨ What is the most rewarding part of her role?
“The most rewarding part of my role is getting to know each patient individually and building trust with them. I appreciate my patients for trusting me to care for them, and I feel it's important to understand each person on a deeper level.”

💡 Words of encouragement for future CNAs and Home Health caregivers:
“Make sure your heart is in it and that caring for others is truly your passion. Don’t do it just for the money. These individuals deserve dignity, respect, and to feel valued. For some patients, we may be one of the few people they see regularly, and our visits can bring happiness, encouragement, and motivation to keep moving forward.”

❤️ Thank you, Lexi, for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to treating every patient with kindness and respect. Your heart for caregiving shines through in everything you do, and we are grateful to have you as part of the Suburban Home Health family.

⛳ What a great day on the course! 🏌️

Suburban Health at Home was proud to participate in the Hancock Health Foundation Golf Benefit at Royal Hylands Golf Club in Knightstown, IN today!

This incredible event raises funds to support Hancock Regional Hospital — this year benefiting the purchase of a new PET/CT scanner for our community. It's always an honor to show up for causes that directly impact the patients and families we serve every day.

Our team — Tim Livesay (CEO), Marc Adamson (VP of Finance and Strategic Growth), Jesse Clouse (Director of IT), Ben McKinney (Regional Nurse Manager), and Megan Ash (Business Development Liaison) — enjoyed every moment representing Suburban Health at Home on the fairway!

Thank you to the Hancock Health Foundation for hosting such a wonderful event. We are grateful to be part of a community that continues to invest in quality healthcare. 💚
