Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is pause. 🙏🌿
This simple hand position is called Gassho, a Japanese word meaning "two hands coming together."
In Reiki, Gassho is more than a gesture. It is an invitation.
An invitation to become present.
To quiet the constant stream of thoughts.
To take one intentional breath.
To reconnect with yourself before rushing into the next task.
Whether I'm beginning my day, preparing for a Reiki session, or simply needing a moment to reset, I often return to Gassho. It's a reminder that peace isn't something we find somewhere outside of ourselves—it's something we can choose to return to, one breath at a time.
You don't need an hour of meditation to care for your nervous system.
Sometimes all it takes is:
✨ Bringing your hands together.
✨ Closing your eyes.
✨ Taking three slow, intentional breaths.
✨ Setting an intention for the day ahead.
Healing doesn't always begin with doing more.
Sometimes it begins with becoming still enough to hear your own inner wisdom.
Today's intention:
May I move through this day with presence, compassion, and an open heart.
đź’ś Have you ever tried taking just one mindful minute before starting your day? I'd love to hear what helps you reconnect with yourself.

Sometimes the argument isn’t really about the dishes, the schedule, the money, or what was said in the moment. It’s about what that moment triggered underneath.
Uncertainty about the future can bring up fear. Feeling judged or rejected can make us defensive or shut down. Carrying too much for too long can turn a small request into the final straw.
Healthy relationships aren’t about never being triggered. They’re about learning to recognize what’s happening inside you before reacting to the person you love.
A helpful question in those moments is: “What am I actually feeling right now, and what do I need my partner to understand?”
When we can move from blame into curiosity, conversations begin to change. đź’ś
Sometimes the relationship doesn’t need more arguing—it needs two people who feel safe enough to be honest about what’s underneath it.

One of the most beautiful practices we learn in Advanced Reiki is that healing doesn’t always have to be focused only on who we are today. We can intentionally send Reiki to our younger self—to the child, teenager, or younger version of us who experienced fear, grief, loneliness, or moments when they simply needed more love and support. 💜
We aren’t changing what happened. We’re changing the way we hold it now.
There can be something incredibly transformative about sitting in the safety of the present moment and offering that younger version of yourself the compassion, reassurance, and healing energy you wish they had received then. Sometimes the words are simply: I see you. I’m here. You made it through. You are loved.
Reiki can become a beautiful bridge between who you were and who you are becoming—helping you soften old emotional patterns, reconnect with yourself, and bring more peace into the present.
✨ Sometimes healing your present begins by lovingly reaching back for the version of you who is still waiting to feel safe.

Have you ever wondered, “Why can’t I relax when nothing is actually wrong?”
Sometimes our bodies are still carrying stress long after the stressful moment has passed. I wrote a new blog about overwhelm, the nervous system, and how practices like Reiki and energy healing can create space to slow down, reconnect, and simply receive. ✨
If you’ve been feeling tired, overstimulated, or like you’re always holding everything together, this one may speak to you.

Have you ever noticed how stress can seem to settle into the body?

The shoulders feel heavy. The back tightens. You may feel like you are carrying everyone, holding in emotions, or pushing through long after your body has been asking for rest.

Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy can offer a gentle space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and support relaxation and emotional processing. IET in particular is often used with the intention of helping people explore and release limiting emotional patterns, while Reiki focuses on creating a calm, restorative environment for the whole person.

This doesn’t mean every ache or pain has an emotional cause, and energy work is not a replacement for medical care. But sometimes it can be valuable to ask:

**What have I been carrying lately?
Where am I holding tension?
What might I be ready to soften or let go of?**

Your body deserves to be listened to, not just pushed through. 🤍

I offer Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy sessions in my Noblesville office, with select energy-healing support available virtually as well.

If the energy feels a little extra intense today, give yourself permission to slow down and come back to the basics. Ground, hydrate, breathe, rest, and be gentle with yourself. You don’t have to figure everything out today—sometimes the most healing thing you can do is release what feels heavy and choose what brings you back to you. ✨💜 The 8/8 Lion’s Gate energy is here. ✨
Today carries a beautiful invitation to look at what you’re ready to release, what you’re ready to receive, and who you’re becoming in the process. With the Sun moving through Leo, this energy is connected to courage, authenticity, creativity and following what truly lights you up. And with the symbolism of 8/8—abundance, infinity and personal power—today doesn’t have to be about forcing a manifestation. It can simply be about getting quiet enough to ask: What am I ready to say yes to now? 💜

The Healing Power of Human Touch 🤲

Long before modern medicine, humans instinctively reached out to comfort one another with a hand on the shoulder, a hug, or simply being present with someone in pain.

Today, research continues to explore how safe, compassionate touch may influence our well-being. Depending on the context, gentle touch has been associated with activating the parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) nervous system, lowering stress, reducing muscle tension, and supporting relaxation.

Practices such as Reiki and other healing touch modalities build upon this foundation while also incorporating traditions that work with the body’s subtle energy. These energy concepts are rooted in spiritual and cultural healing systems and are experienced differently by different people.

During a Reiki session, some clients describe feeling warmth, tingling, deep relaxation, or emotional release. Others simply enjoy having uninterrupted time to slow down and reconnect with themselves. Every experience is unique.

While Reiki should not replace medical or mental health care, many people choose to use it as a complementary practice alongside their existing healthcare to support relaxation, stress management, and overall well-being.

One of my favorite things about this work is that it invites us to do something many of us rarely allow ourselves to do:
✨ Pause.
✨ Breathe.
✨ Listen.
✨ Rest.

Sometimes healing begins not because we force change, but because we finally create enough stillness to notice what our minds and bodies have been trying to tell us.
Have you ever experienced Reiki or another healing touch practice? I’d love to hear what your experience was like. 💜
