My results went backwards.
Gulp...that's not supposed to happen.

NEWSFLASH - it's normal and I want you to stop shaming yourself for it.

Yes, even us "health and fitness" people struggle, have setbacks, gain weight, hit plateaus and sometimes we have no idea what to do!

From 43-44 - my results vanished (pic 1).

I ended 2022 feeling incredible and on top of the world. But out of nowhere, everything started changing for me.
-energy dropped
-weight increased
-body fat went up around my belly and in my back
-muscle seemed to be disappearing
-my mood was all over the place

My constant thought was "what is wrong with me?"

This was SO HARD b/c I didn't stop or give up on my healthy habits.

So I got curious and started reading, learning, studying and even got a new doctor.

Instead of seeing my journey as one of just for general health and for my external physique - I started looking at my journey through the lens of HORMONE HEALTH.

I made lots of changes.
I tried a lot of things.

(Pic 2)
Year 44-45 (today).
I finally have my waistline back.
I finally feel like myself again.

It took me YEARS to figure out what to do differently. I want to shrink that timeline for you.

What if you started STEP 1 with me in my new Hormone Health Support Group?

STEP 1 begins with learning how to support our Liver Health - our Liver is very important in manufacturing, regulating, and directing hormones, and by removing excess hormones from the body.

It's only $20 to enroll and does not involve pills or a cleanse! Just healthy lifestyle changes we are going to start to tweak and change over time together.

How is this even possible?

T W E L V E Years!

12 years ago today, I chose ME. And I still am today.

Even though I was so scared of failing and wasting my money AGAIN,
-I said YES to a shake and a workout program Insanity.
-I chose to be a part of something bigger than myself - BODi (then called Beachbody).

When I joined my community of online wellness friends, I was DESPERATE to lose the 10 lbs I had been trying to lose for 10 years.

I needed a way to do that at home, on my own time. I was working full time as a teacher and the kids were 2 and 8 months old - I was NOT about to put them in childcare so I could workout after they had been at a babysitter all day.

I didn’t realize what was going to unfold after that one, simple yes.

It sounds so dramatic, but I had no idea, our future was LEGIT put on a new path just because I said yes on 2/20 back in 2012.

In addition to losing 14 lbs, my clothes fitting again, feeling on fire for my life and having more energy than I knew was possible for a young mom, I found I was more CONFIDENT in who I was than ever before.

I cared less what other people thought, I was standing up for myself and my ideas more at work and I was walking TALLER through life - I was more FUN and INSPIRING to be around.

But more than that - I remembered WHO I was - an ambitious, hard-working, full-of-vision and fire-for-her-life woman who has big, big dreams for herself.

That's what happened 12 years ago.

Do you need this kind of change? I can help.

You're gonna like this. I promise.

Life/Family Update:

We ALL 4 battled Covid over the last 20 days. Tyler has fully recovered. David is back to school/work and Avery and I will be able to enter society today. It’s been insane. I am beyond grateful that our cases were mild (David and I were both vaccinated) and almost all of us have made a full recovery. But needless to say, this has been a nightmare I would never wish upon anyone.

The purpose of my post is to not talk vaccines, which have somehow become political and even sometimes religious. Nor, have I come to point fingers or place blame or even ask for advice. 🙂

My point today is to remove the negative stigma from those who have battled this virus in silence because you felt ashamed or that you did something wrong - or maybe someone made you feel like you did.

I believe…
It can happen to anyone. If you get sick or if you have been - it doesn’t mean anything. It’s not a black mark on your character. It does not mean you did anything wrong and it does not mean you are dirty or wrong.

If you feel kinda sick…just go get a test and see if you do or not. It’s okay.

I believe….
This virus does not discriminate in any way.
Any level of education, any social class, any race, any occupation, any age, any gender, whether vaccinated or not, whether you masked up, used a gallon of sanitizer and took every precaution you knew to take, it can still happen. It’s vicious.

From our knowledge, Tyler brought the virus home from school and before he showed a single outward symptom was already contagious to our family. 5 days later, David had it, and before he knew he was sick, and two days later, both Avery and I were sick too.

I believe…
We literally had a zero chance to avoid it. And I am Mrs. Positive. It was going to happen. So on August 23rd, what’s ending up to be, because of this unstoppable ripple effect, our 20 day quarantine began.

We each experienced the virus a little differently, a little longer or shorter than each other, some with fevers, some with coughs some with hardly a symptom - we’ve all lost our taste and smell though which has made all food “blah” and texture more important than ever and cold ice cream the best thing ever. Somehow though a Chick-fil-a Waffle Fry still delivers the same satisfaction…funny how that happens.

What I know is this: We won.
We came out on the other side - a little beaten, but still here and ready to keep fighting.

I believe….
Our lifestyle and our priorities on health potentially saved our lives.
Before the virus we controlled what we could and that is our lifestyle and our focus on health.

1. We move our bodies every single day through exercise and getting outside
2. We drink more water than anything else.
3. We eat whole, fresh fruits and veggies.
4. We fuel our body with superfoods, vitamins and minerals intentionally.
5. We cook our meals at home most nights of the week and avoid as much processed food as we can.
6. We don’t sweat the small stuff and focus on gratitude, living life to the fullest and on experiences as a family.
7. We value our personal internal health and always do what’s best for our long-term health - it’s a priority in our family.

We did it. We beat it this time (I am still having some lingering affects that I have a feeling will last a bit) and I want you to beat it as well.

Stay safe my friends. We are here for you.

And here’s the most amazing recipe to an easy Chicken and Noodle soup that you can make when you feel like crap and everyone will love: http://www.erinyoungfitness.com/healthy-chicken-noodle-soup/

If you are going to meal plan this weekend, here are some tips for you! The key to success is to have a plan BEFORE the week starts, this weekend is a great time to plan/start! Here are my tips for making this a painless process!

How to make meal prep/planning simple & easy!!

1. Have a rotating list of 10 meals you know every single member of your family loves (keep it simple, silly) and make sure to have those on the plan at least twice a week (grilled hamburgers, chicken Parm, meatloaf, pizza, etc —-yes, we eat all of these but have “healthified” them all) We literally have zoodles and spaghetti squash every single week. It works…so stick with it!

2. Plan to cook 4 dinners (double recipes for all), eat leftovers 2 nights and eat out once (or order Friday night pizzas and salads)!

3. Keep breakfast simple and fast by drinking Shakeology. Add toast and peanut butter for extra morning fuel.

4. Pick two options for lunch and rotate (having dinner leftovers as much as you can). Salads, fruits, healthy pita sandwiches with leftover protein or organic ham and turkey slices.

5. Pick two options for snacks and rotate. Beach Bars, Fruit, veggies and hummus, Greek yogurt

**If you sit down and get overwhelmed…just take a deep breath and Plan for THREE days instead of seven.

Truth: we have two positive cases 🦠 in my house RIGHT NOW.

This flat out sucks.
I have zero control…ZERO CONTROL over anything right now other than…MY ATTITUDE.

The truth is I am struggling with my mindset, with my Nutrition, with my focus on my business.

Because we are in a season of struggle, it absolutely does NOT mean we are failing.

Because we are in a season of struggle, it does not mean we quit.

Because we are in a season of struggle, it does not mean we take our sights off our goals.

We pivot.
We give ourselves grace.
We continue to live in gratitude.
We continue to visualize our goals.

We take very steps instead of giant leaps right now.
We keep showing up, but in smaller ways.
We ASK FOR HELP.
We DELEGATE.

It does not mean we are failing.

I never expected to be a maid, short-order cook, waitress and nurse for two weeks straight.

But it’s the cards I’ve been handed and I’m gonna play them with confidence and strength and all the faith in the man upstairs, cause right now, there’s no doubt that He’s got this for my family.
