Static VS Dynamic Cupping. Static and dynamic cupping are both Myofascial Release Massage techniques, but they serve different goals. Static cupping leaves stationary cups in place for 5–10 minutes to target stubborn trigger points or draw blood/lymphatic stagnation up to the surface of the body to be processed by the body as in to detox . Dynamic cupping glides the cups across the skin with oil. It can be used as an excellent Myofasial Release & Manual Lymphatic Drainage combo or offer deep-tissue massage treating larger muscle groups and improving mobility.

Static Cupping- How it works: Cups are applied to specific, localized areas and left in place for several minutes. The suction pulls the skin and fascia outward, increasing sustained local blood flow.Best for: Treating stubborn muscle knots, areas of chronic tension, and "stuck" fascia.Marks: This method is more likely to cause the traditional circular, dark red or purple marks (petechiae).

Dynamic Cupping- How it works: Also known as "glide cupping". This method involves applying a lubricant to the skin and pulling the cups in flowing, massage-like movements.Best for: Covering larger muscle groups (like the back or thighs), treating fascial adhesions, and improving lymphatic flow and active range of motion.Marks: Because the cups are constantly in motion, this technique rarely leaves the prominent, stationary circle marks associated with static cupping.

Which one to choose? Our skilled Massage Therapists often integrate both—using dynamic cupping to warm and release the tissues, followed by static cupping on a deep, stubborn knot. Not all Massage Therapists use both techniques. Clear communication at time of booking & with your therapist is essential for best outcomes. ✨️
