A few pics from last night's mental health hero ball, supporting NAMI Coastal Virginia. The National Alliance on Mental Illness offers support to those suffering with mental illness and those caring for individuals with mental illness. Mental illness comes in all shapes and sizes. Many times, the individuals suffer in silence and you have no clue, because on the outside "things appear normal". Know there are resources locally if you or a loved one need assistance.

Been a buzzy 🐝 bee, painting rocks for Sentara Leigh's healing garden. May is mental health awareness month. Sentara Leigh Hospital had a grand illumination and lit the hospital up in green. I hope my rocks brighten someone's day and remind them how special they really are.

And if nothing else, I am having fun. Working on this project has brightened my day!

For the patient that brought in the cookie decorating kit, I'd like to say thanks! Not only were they really tasty, but my almost 16yr old son came in the kitchen and helped me decorate them ( and said he had fun!)-- That's a priceless gift for sure!!!!

The days leading up to Christmas were a little hectic and we just decorated them today! It was time well spent for a relaxing day off. Thank you for the thoughtful gift.
