Healing Conversations offers a safe space for su***de loss survivors to speak openly and share their story with someone who understands firsthand the pain and complexity of su***de loss.

Our trained volunteers listen without judgment, share from personal experience, and help individuals feel less alone. Everyone grieves differently, and whether a loss was recent or it’s been years, we’re here to help su***de loss survivors navigate their healing journey.

Our next fundraiser is coming up quickly! Sat. Aug. 29th from 3-5pm at State Nebraska Bank Campus Branch in Wayne, NE! A person's genetic predisposition determines the expression of certain disorders. When there is a family history of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism, or ADHD, there is a greater likelihood that future generations will also develop these disorders. There is not "su***de" gene, just as there is not a "substance use disorder gene" or a "schizophrenia" gene. However, the genetic makeup of individuals can be very similar to that of previous generations. Furthermore, the way a family treats those with mental health conditions teaches future generations acceptable behavior. If a family is accepting and compassionate, chances are that future generations will display these same characteristics. However, if someone is shamed for their illness and judged harshly, ignorance and stigma will persist.
