Great tool to use when you find yourself becoming overwhelmed!
Remember, just because we have a thought, it doesn’t mean it is a fact.
Our brains have thoughts constantly flowing. We can choose which ones we focus on and which we follow.

Nearly 75% of high schoolers and 50% of middle schoolers feel constantly stressed by schoolwork, according to a survey by the American Psychological Association. Helping your child manage school stress doesn’t mean removing challenges. It means giving them the tools and support they need to navigate challenges.

Therapists grieve too.

I debated whether or not I should make this post. Why? Because its personal and therapists tend to not "overshare". However, I think it is important that people understand that therapists grieve too. We are human.

This past June marked two years since I lost my Mom. I decided I wanted to do something in honor of her. Afterall, she was someone who lived her life doing things for others--making things, gifting things, etc. She led a life where she showed others she thought of them and cared. So in return, I created 20 bags for patients going through cancer treatments. I selected items that they could use while they are receiving their treatment. These items were gifted to the local cancer center in memory of my mother, JoEllen Mandl. Because ultimately it would have been something she would have done.

I also learned early on in my career in this field from someone that it is important for us to give back to our community when we are able. So, I am giving locally to a cause that is close to my heart. Thank you Laurie Millard for instilling this in me.

And even I will continue to grieve. But I will also continue to cherish the memories of my Mother.

Love you Ma!
