Preparing for the Upcoming Ski Season
This year, we want you to prepare your body better than ever before for the upcoming snow riding season. Check out the line up of class and individual snow sports prehab and events.
Ski Conditioning Group Class
In addition to our individual and partner intensive series, we are teaming up with the Alpine Training Project (ATP) to host an in person ski conditioning series. There is rigor behind this program. It is based upon the best injury risk reduction evidence available. And all ATP instructors must be certified and be physical therapists. Kathryn and I are certified ATP instructors and will serve as your guides through the in-person training. In addition to the in person training, there is an online component you have access to for 6 months to boost or maintain your fitness. There are uphill athlete and downhill athlete specific training paths as part of the online training.
ATP in person classes will be taught starting 10/15/25 and continue for 6 weeks on Wednesdays at 7pm. The price is $230 for the in person class and access to online content for 6 months. This will fill up FAST since we are only doing 1 offering. Here is the link to sign up (https://alpinetrainingproject.com/join/iron-horse-pt-wednesdays-erik-bies-pt/) . You can also visit alpinetrainingproject.com (http://www.alpinetrainingproject.com) for more details and click on in-person classes.
Individual or Partner Snow Sports Prehab
For those of you that want a more individualized approach to ski and snowboard conditioning, I will continue to offer the original 6 session intensive, 1-on-1 or 2-on-1, program. In the first session, we evaluate for the modifiable risk factors that are associated with ACL (knee) injury. We build your home and/or gym program together from there, and the visits can be spaced out as needed to allow you to adapt appropriately. This series is $1200 for individuals and $1600 for partner sessions. Email me or call to set it up! [email protected] or 425-292-3351.
ACL Injury Risk Reduction Blog Post
Back in 2022, I posted about the modifiable factors related to ACL injuries and skiing. Check it out https://ironhorseptandperformance.com/knee-injury-prevention-for-skiers/.
Workshop
There will be a free educational workshop on ACL injury risk reduction at Iron Horse PT and Performance. Look for that coming on a November evening as the stoke level begins to rise. Details to come.

Thank you!
We appreciate your continued trust and support. Iron Horse PT and Performance remains committed to one-on-one care with the doctor of physical therapy. The time we have to educate and promote self-efficacy is what really what helps people get through pain and rehabilitate. Sometimes the rehab journey is short, and sometimes the journey is longer, but we will always make our best effort to get you back to doing what you love.
Sincerely,
Erik Bies and Kathryn Dove
