Being self-centered often means our attention is pulled toward protecting, proving, or defending ourselves. We react from survival patterns that developed to keep us safe.
Being centered in yourself is something entirely different.
It means staying connected to your body, your values, and your inner experience, even in moments of stress or conflict. From that grounded place, you're better able to:
✨ Pause instead of react.
✨ Set boundaries without guilt.
✨ Stay curious instead of defensive.
✨ Offer empathy without abandoning yourself.
Emotional maturity isn't just a mindset—it's a nervous system capacity. When your body learns that it's safe to stay present with difficult emotions, you no longer need to control, avoid, or disconnect. You can respond with intention rather than impulse.
