Depression can affect far more than mood. It can also make everyday tasks feel mentally and physically exhausting. Simple responsibilities such as getting out of bed, answering messages, cleaning, making decisions, or completing routines may begin to feel overwhelming.

This is not laziness or a lack of effort. Depression can affect motivation, energy levels, concentration, and the brain’s ability to manage tasks efficiently. Even activities that once felt automatic may require significantly more mental energy.

Over time, this exhaustion can create frustration, guilt, or self-criticism, especially when others do not fully understand what the person is experiencing. Recognizing how depression impacts daily functioning can help encourage more compassion, patience, and support.

If you, or a loved one, are living with depression, support and research opportunities are available.

If you currently use ma*****na and want to quit, the process can involve more than simply deciding to stop. Regular use can become connected to daily routines, stress relief, sleep, mood, and coping habits, which can make quitting feel difficult even when you are ready for a change.

Cravings, irritability, restlessness, trouble sleeping, and mood changes may happen as the brain and body adjust. These challenges are not just about willpower. They are part of the mental, emotional, and behavioral patterns that can develop around ma*****na use.

Understanding these patterns can help create more realistic expectations and encourage healthier steps forward during ma*****na smoking cessation.

If you, or a loved one, are interested in ma*****na smoking cessation, support and research opportunities are available.

Daily structure can play an important role in helping individuals living with schizophrenia maintain stability. Consistent routines such as regular sleep, meals, medication, and daily activities can help create predictability in a condition where thoughts, emotions, and perception may sometimes feel uncertain.

Small routines can make a meaningful difference over time. Waking up at the same time each day, staying connected to support systems, attending appointments, or maintaining simple responsibilities can help reduce stress and support overall functioning.

Stability does not mean perfection. It is about building routines and habits that create a stronger foundation for managing symptoms and maintaining day-to-day well-being. Understanding the value of structure can help encourage more supportive environments and healthier long-term outcomes.

If you, or a loved one, are living with schizophrenia, support and research opportunities are available.

Medication can play an important role in helping manage manic episodes in bipolar disorder. During a manic phase, a person may experience increased energy, racing thoughts, impulsive decision-making, reduced need for sleep, or a heightened sense of confidence that can become difficult to control.

Treatment is not about changing someone’s personality or taking away emotion. The goal is to help reduce the intensity of symptoms, support stability, and make daily functioning more manageable. For many individuals, medication can help slow the escalation of manic symptoms before they become more disruptive.

Managing bipolar disorder often involves a combination of treatment, routine, support, and awareness of early warning signs. Understanding how treatment can help during manic episodes may encourage more open conversations about care and long-term stability.

If you, or a loved one, are living with bipolar disorder, support and research opportunities are available.

Hello June 🌿

This month at Neuro-Behavioral Clinical Research, we’re continuing our commitment to advancing care through clinical research and expanding opportunities for individuals and families throughout our community.

We are currently focusing on research studies involving:
• Schizophrenia
• Bipolar Disorder
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Memory Loss / Alzheimer’s Disease
• Ma*****na Smoking Cessation

In addition to our ongoing studies, we are also nearing completion on a major expansion project that will nearly double the physical size of our facility. This growth represents more than additional space. It reflects our continued investment in research, patient support, and the future of care within our community.

As we move into this next chapter, we remain grateful for every participant, family member, and supporter who continues to place their trust in us.
