Update: Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Plantation Pointe
Dorchester County Water and Sewer Department advises the customers of Bent Creek Drive, Hidden Forest Lane, Burkeshire Court, Rice Mill Drive, Aspen Woods Lane, Lavender Lane, Sawmill Trace Lane, Saddle Creek Court, Buttonwood Court, Trevor Street, and Water Ash Way they no longer need to boil their water prior to drinking or cooking.
Following an intense flushing of the water distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected by the Department and analyzed by our laboratory. The results of this sampling indicate that the water system is now safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes.

The Dorchester County Water and Sewer Department has expanded the boil water advisory to include all of Plantation Pointe subdivision, including:
Bent Creek Drive, Hidden Forest Lane, Burkeshire Court, Rice Mill Drive, Aspen Woods Lane, Lavender Lane, Sawmill Trace Lane, Saddle Creek Court, Buttonwood Court, Trevor Street and Water Ash Way.
The advisory is being issued due to contractor work in the area. Water service is expected to be shut off for approximately 10 hours while the work is completed.
Once service is restored, customers should vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute before drinking or cooking. Ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
Customers will be notified as soon as the water is safe for consumption.
