📚❤️ Giving back to our community, one backpack at a time!

Life Care Center of Charleston was honored to participate in a school supply drive benefiting Ladson Elementary School. Yesterday, our Activities team proudly delivered all of the donated supplies to help local students start the school year prepared for success. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this wonderful effort. Together, we’re making a difference in the lives of our community’s children. Wishing all the students and teachers an amazing school year! 🍎✏️🎒

🎉 Congratulations to our new Director of Rehab: Kelly Unk, PTA!

💪 Kelly Unk’s journey with Life Care began in 2007 when she joined our team as a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant before transitioning to a full-time role. Throughout her career, she has served residents across short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, dementia care, outpatient therapy, and The Bridge at Charleston. Many will also remember her dedication during the years of our Garden Terrace Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence.

For Kelly, Life Care is more than just a workplace — it’s personal. ❤️ She was first drawn to our facility because a beloved woman from her church, Miss Winnie, was a resident in our dementia unit. Kelly cared for Miss Winnie for many years until her passing, creating a lasting bond that reinforced her passion for serving others. Her commitment to dementia care extends beyond her professional life. Kelly and her son were caregivers for her grandmother, who lived with dementia for many years before eventually becoming a resident at Life Care Center of Charleston.

Having grown professionally alongside our community, Kelly brings nearly two decades of experience, compassion, and leadership to her new role. We are excited to have her leading our Rehabilitation Department and look forward to the positive impact she will continue to make for our residents, families, and team members. 👏

Kaleese Williams (CNA) consistently goes above and beyond in the care she provides to our residents. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to the nursing team and is a dependable, positive presence on the unit. 🩷

What truly sets Kaleese apart is the pride she takes in her work. She works tirelessly to ensure every resident receives compassionate, high-quality care, treating each person with dignity, kindness, and respect. Her dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence make a meaningful difference every day. We are grateful for all that Kaleese does and are proud to recognize her as July’s WIT award winner. 🫶

Meet Our New Clinical Leadership Team! 😁 🩺

Please join us in congratulating Natasha West, LPN, on her well-earned promotion, and in welcoming Michelle Stegall, RN, to our Clinical leadership team! These ladies will share dual leadership responsibilities, working alongside Director of Nursing Shari Saunders, RN, to support our Nursing staff, oversee clinical excellence, and foster professional development throughout our facility. 👩‍⚕️

⭐ Natasha joined Life Care Center of Charleston on July 10, 2024, as a Floor Nurse. Through her dedication, strong clinical skills, and commitment to excellence, she was promoted to Unit Manager of DaySpring later that year. In August 2025, she advanced to Staff Development Coordinator, where she has played an integral role in mentoring and educating our nursing team. As of June 28, 2026, Natasha has transitioned into an expanded Clinical Leadership role, continuing to help lead and support our Nursing department.

⭐ Michelle joined our team on July 2 of this year. She brings valuable nursing leadership experience and will partner with Natasha in their shared clinical leadership responsibilities.

Together, they will collaborate to strengthen staff development, support quality resident care, and provide leadership throughout our nursing department. Congratulations, Natasha, on your continued growth and leadership, and welcome to the team, Michelle! We are excited to have you both serving in these important roles and look forward to the positive impact you will continue to make for our residents, families, and staff. 👏

Retail therapy was just what these three fashionistas needed! 🛍️✨ Our lovely residents enjoyed a fun shopping outing, hunting for great bargains and finding some fabulous treasures along the way. The smiles say it all—there’s nothing like a day out with friends and the excitement of discovering the perfect deal! 💜

👩‍⚕️ For the past 3 years, Tiffiany has been a dedicated member of the Life Care Center of Charleston family, providing exceptional care to our residents on the Garden Terrace Short-Term Rehabilitation Unit. Tiffiany consistently goes above and beyond with her compassion, kindness, and positive attitude. She treats every resident with dignity and respect while making a meaningful difference in their recovery journey. Her willingness to lend a helping hand, support her teammates, and always do “whatever it takes” embodies the values we strive for each day.

🏡 We had a wonderful time downtown at the Charleston Area Senior Center sharing an educational presentation on the continuum-of-care campus offered by Life Care Center of Charleston and The Bridge at Charleston. It was a great opportunity to connect with the community, answer questions, and provide resources to help seniors and their families navigate their healthcare journey. To top it off, everyone enjoyed bingo, snacks, and prizes. Thank you to everyone who joined us — we appreciate the opportunity to serve our community. ❤️
