💡 LIGHT THERAPY 101 | Lesson 3
Last week we talked about how not all red light is created equal.
Today, let's take the next step.
What is a wavelength?
A wavelength is a specific color of light, measured in nanometers (nm). Different wavelengths have different physical properties, including how deeply they can travel into the body.
At Sunny Shores, we intentionally offer several wavelengths because each has unique characteristics.
🔴 Red Light (Visible)
Red light is one of the most researched wavelengths in photobiomodulation. It is commonly used in skincare and wellness applications because it primarily interacts with more superficial tissues.
⚫ Near Infrared Light (Invisible)
Near infrared light cannot be seen by the human eye, but it can pe*****te deeper than visible red light. It is frequently included alongside red light in many photobiomodulation devices.
🟠 Orange Light
Orange light is commonly incorporated into aesthetic light therapy systems and is often selected as part of facial wellness and skincare routines.
🟢 Green Light
Green light has unique optical properties that make it different from both red and blue wavelengths. It is often included in multi-wavelength wellness systems.
🔵 Blue Light
Blue light interacts primarily with the surface of the skin and has become well known for its use in skincare applications.
One of the reasons we invested in multiple light therapy rooms is because there isn't one perfect wavelength for every situation. Different technologies allow us to provide a variety of light therapy experiences, whether your focus is skincare, recovery, relaxation, or overall wellness.
Over the next few weeks, we'll explore each wavelength individually, explain where you'll find it at Sunny Shores, and discuss what current research is investigating for each one.
