Cummings School researcher Jillian Richmond, Ph.D., studies T cells in dogs to help identify promising new treatments for lupus and lymphoma.
“I look at the yin and yang of T cells. If T cells are not doing their job, we can develop tumors. But if they are overactive, T cells can start attacking healthy tissues in the body. My work focuses on understanding how we can boost T cell activity in anti-tumor responses, but also how to turn that down in autoimmune diseases.”
