This week our founder and lead SLP Patricia Miller spoke to a group of boxers with who train with Coach Dean Moskowitz out of the House of Champions gym in Van Nuys. Patricia gave the boxers an overview of how speech therapy can help them maintain their voices and swallow functions as they fight PD. Thanks again to Coach Dean for the invitation to speak to his inspiring group. 🥊✊

We're in the process of adding an Occupational Therapist to our team. Stay tuned for our OT announcement. We'll start with treating and evaluating pediatric patients, but will incorporate OT for adults, including our patients, as well. We're excited to add this new service line to help assist our community in Los Angeles.

We join together with the communities we serve to raise awareness and mark Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

This month is a reminder that people with developmental disabilities deserve full access to economic opportunity, financial security and community inclusion.

In Maryland, the butterfly symbol, which can appear on a driver’s license or state ID to indicate a developmental disability, reflects growing efforts like Eric’s Law to promote safety, understanding and stronger protections for people with developmental disabilities.

Public policy matters, and so does access to the right financial tools and resources.

At National Disability Institute, we work every day to advance financial inclusion so people with disabilities can build assets, plan for the future and achieve their goals.

Bottom line: she emphasizes how important speech is for a person's development.

Humans are the only species that can transform internal ideas into talk, whether through speech, writing, or sign language. But why do we have this almost magical, special talent? It turns out that while talking allows us to share ideas and connect with one another, it isn’t just for commun...
