Sadly on Saturday August 22, 2026, Charlene Harvey, was called to her heavenly home, she was 79 years old.
Charlene Lyons was born to Tessie (Frasure) and George Lyons on August 30, 1947 in Prestonsburg, KY. Her parents divorced, and she and her Mother moved to North Judson, IN, with other family, that found work in the steel mill industry, she was 12 years old. IN 1961 her Mother remarried a North Judson man, Robert Medbourn (step-Dad), and two years later she had an adopted baby brother Greg Medbourn.
A graduate of North Judson-San Pierre High School, she always had a fond love for her Bluejays, and always contributed by working within her class of 1965. While in high school she dated and fell in love with Allen Harvey. They were married January 21, 1966, and they celebrated 53 years of marriage together until Allen’s death July 17, 2019.
Charlene was creative in the art of design going back to her high school days. In her senior year she meet a lady named Lil Bogart, owner Pioneer Florist, and the rest is history. She worked for Bogart for ten years, and with Bogart’s encouragement she started her own Florist and Gift Shop (Char’s Florist & Gifts) in neighboring Knox, IN during the Fall of 1978.
Knox, IN became her life for the next 41 years. She loved working with everyone in Starke County, performing 412 weddings and many more funerals. Her favorite was the ‘Holiday of Love,’ Valentine’s Day! In 2018 she retired from her shoppe in Knox, and has...

On Sunday, August 16th, 2026 Edward John Bau, passed away at the age of 68.
He was born on August 26th, 1957 to parents Peter and Leona (Bucher) Bau in Knox, Indiana and grew up in Toto, Indiana. At the end of his life he lived at The Brickyard in Knox.
He worked on the railroad for Conrail and then worked for his brother Richard at Bau Construction doing masonry and brick laying. He was a member of the Class of 1976 NJSP and later graduated with his bachelors in biology, and associates in chemistry from Purdue University North Central.
He is survived by his children: April (Mark) Ochoa of Kansas City, MO, Zac Bau of Parma, MI, and Rella (Kasey) Bitner of Jackson, MI. His grandchildren: Jordan (Justin) Montfort of Kansas City, MO, Dominic King of Jackson, MI, Andru King of Jackson, MI, Joshua Bau of Kendallville, IN, Oliviah Frey of Onsted, MI, and Ava Bau of Cassopolis, MI. His great grandchildren: Aurora Montfort and Annistyn King. Also his siblings; Richard Bau, Peter Bau, and Barbara Walters.
He is preceded in death by his parents Pete and Leona Bau and his siblings Mary Schrombeck, Margaret Bostain, Elizabeth Back, Pauline Howard, and Dorothy Wagner.
He had a deep love for life, learning, family, and the outdoors, and he pursued his many passions with remarkable determination. An avid lover of animals, he raised exotic birds and fish, and there often seemed to be fish swimming in containers throughout the house- even in pickle jars! His...

Walter John Krzyzanowski, Jr., 78, passed away at home on August 10, 2026, after battling Parkinson's disease for 18 years. He was born May 4, 1948, in Valparaiso, Indiana, to Walter and Harriet (Kaminski) Krzyzanowski. Walter attended Cass Center Elementary and Medaryville Schools, and graduated from North Judson-San Pierre High School in 1966. He lived most of his life on the family farm, which has been in the Krzyzanowski family since 1904, staying on to help his parents.
Over the years, Walter worked at Derby Foods in Chicago, the San Pierre Grain Elevator, and Owens Corning in Valparaiso, before spending 36 years at Thermo Pride in North Judson. Walter's true passion was collecting and restoring a number of Indian Motorcycles during his lifetime. He was a longtime member of the Indian 4 Cycle Club since 1977. He was also an avid collector of vintage signs and Indian memorabilia, and a lifetime fan of the Chicago White Sox.
Walter is survived by his brothers, Joe (Charlotte) of San Pierre, John of Granger, and Ed (Sandy) of Brooklyn Park, MN, and his sister, Mary Ann (Graig) of South Bend, along with nephews Scott (Diane) and Troy, great-nephew Anthony, and great-nieces Amanda and Megan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Harriet Krzyzanowski.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 17, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at O'Donnell Funeral Home in North Judson, followed by a funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. at S.S. Cyril and Methodius...

Ronnie Clemons was born on December 25, 1946 to Lee and Mandy (Martin) Clemons in Hazard, KY. He died on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at South Bend Memorial Hospital after a sudden cardiac event. On June 7, 1966 he married Dorothy (Blankenship) Clemons, who survives.
Ronnie would tell you to skip down to the most important paragraph, but because we’re so incredibly proud of him, we’re going to list some of his many accomplishments.
Ronnie was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves from 1966 to 1972, during which time he was recognized with numerous awards. He served as Commander of the American Legion Post 92 for two terms and was recently honored with a pin for 50 years of consecutive membership of the Legion. For approximately thirty years Ronnie organized the “Christmas Food Baskets” project through the American Legion, providing around 50 baskets filled with food needed to provide a nice, full Christmas dinner for veterans and people in need. This program was very important to him. Ronnie retired from Tefft Bridge and Iron in 2010, having previously worked at Thermo Products, Cravens-Insul, Allis Chalmers, and others. He was a former North Judson Town Council Member and town police officer. He was known for dressing up as Santa, having been born on Christmas Day, and bringing Christmas cheer to many children. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Betty Jean (Burke) Sullivan, 86, who departed this life on July 29, 2026, in Midland, Michigan. Betty was cherished by family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her kindness, warmth, and generosity.
Born on May 2, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, Betty moved to North Judson, Indiana at the age of ten. She attended SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic schools and then graduated from North Judson High School where she was a member of the band, choir, and crowned Homecoming Queen. On October 3, 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, Jerry G. Sullivan of Winamac. They shared almost 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2016. Their loving union was blessed with two children, Jerry (Jay) Gene Sullivan, Jr and Christine Marie. Betty was a devoted wife and mother. She later sold advertising for The Market in North Judson for years before retiring. She never met a stranger, and all her customers became friends. She enjoyed her “Friday Night Eats” group with dear friends and drinking vodka on the rocks with olives. Traveling was a hobby. She traveled all over the United States, visited Italy, and she especially loved her favorite island, St Maarten, where she visited each year for thirty years with her husband and close friends, Janet & Keith Fingerhut. VIOLA HURT AGE 83 OF NORTH JUDSON WENT HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD ON JULY 21, 2026 SURROUNDED BY LOVED ONES. SHE WAS BORN JUNE 23, 1943 IN SALYERSVILLE KENTUCKY TO THE LATE RICARD ROWE AND EDITH MANNS.
ON OCTOBER 21, 1974 SHE MARRIED THE LOVE OF HER LIFE BOBBY HURT. THEY SHARED 51 WONDERFUL YEARS TOGETHER.
VIOLA WAS A DEVOTED CHRISTIAN AND ATTENDED FREE UNITED BAPTIST CHURCH IN NORTH JUDSON. SHE LOVED TO COOK AND BAKE. THERE WAS ALWAYS PLENTY OF GOODIES TO GO AROUND. SHE WOULD FEED ANYONE THAT CAME TO HER HOUSE. SHE HAD A LOVE IN HER HEART FOR EVERYONE SHE CAME IN CONTACT WITH. SHE LOVED DEEPLY.
