Sea kissed by the ocean, Rosa rugosa is offering its late summer fruit, the delicious, healing hips! They are big and juicy, full of seeds, and ready to be gathered for winter teas, jam and SKIN CARE.

I’ve always wanted to make a hydrosol with them so here it goes…

* It’s hydrating and refreshing helping to replenish moisture

* It can be soothing on irritated skin

* It contains vitamin c and other antioxidant compounds

* Can be used as a toner

* Great for mature skin

* The scent can help skin feel nurturing and restorative

Energetically its heart resilient, supports integration, restoration after hardship, supports healthy boundaries.

Calendula…Sunshine for the Skin & Spirit🌼🌼🌼

Summer mornings are a favorite time in the garden…the golden-orange blossoms are more than just beautiful…they are a treasure part of my apothecary.🌼🌼🌼

For the skin, calendula is traditionally used to

🌼Calm irritated, sensitive or inflamed skin
🌼Soothe dryness
🌼Supports minor cuts, scrapes, burns, rashes and insect bites
🌼Nourish mature and delicate skin

As a medicinal

🌼It supports the lymph
🌼Aids digestion
🌼Supports immune
🌼Helps the body respond to inflammation

Out back they have their own special place to flourish. Harvesting and creating skin care and medicine is a joyful process. They become the 🩷 of many of my herbal creations, including Calendula infused oil and balm, Skin Dew, Hand Rescue, Wild Rose Dewy Radiance Serum and other botanical body oils.

Today the sun reached it’s apex! The longest day of sunlight is here. I always see it as a celebration of the flowers and a beautiful time of soaking up the light and beauty of this passage. 🌸🌹🌼
