Today, August 30, is National Grief Awareness Day. Here’s a poignant perspective on loss from Queen Elizabeth II, who made these remarks nearly 25 years ago in response to the tragedy of 9/11. Her husband, Prince Philip, died in April 2021 after 73 years of marriage.

A pediatric patient in Hot Springs recently had a birthday, and the care team—alongside support from the LifeTouch Health Foundation—helped create a gentle, meaningful way for his family to honor the day.

He loves superheroes, and his siblings surrounded him with their own excitement and love, making the moment even more special in their own quiet way.

Even the smallest moments can leave the deepest impact. 🤍

Give a Caregiver the Gift of Time

Family caregivers give so much of themselves every day. Thanks to The Respite Care Fund through the LifeTouch Health Foundation, your gift can give them something they desperately need but rarely ask for: time to rest, recharge, and care for themselves.

• $150 provides 4 hours of respite care for one patient's family
• $300 provides 8 hours of respite care for two patients and their caregivers

Those hours of respite care can mean rest and renewed strength for someone who gives so much every day.

Will you help us give an Arkansas caregiver the gift of time?

If you’d like to touch a life, please give today at https://www.lifetouchhealth.org/the-respite-care-fund.

As always, thank you for your support!

Have you ever wanted to send a card to a hospice patient but been unsure about what to say? Perhaps you can’t find an appropriate card – or wonder if it’s even OK to send one. To see thoughts from folks who have experience in both the greeting card industry and hospice care, please visit https://ideas.hallmark.com/articles/sympathy-ideas/hospice-messages-what-to-write-to-someone-who-is-dying/. While dealing with grief, which can begin before a loss actually occurs, is always an important topic, it’s especially timely as we approach National Grief Awareness Day on Aug. 30.

As a community service, LifeTouch Health offers grief support, free of charge, to the general public, including children, as well as the families of our patients. To learn more, please visit https://www.lifetouchhealth.org/grief-support.
