Please join us in congratulating Matt Tucker on being the recipient of the quarterly ASH STAR Award!

Matt was nominated for going above and beyond to care for a patient and support the surgical team. When a patient arrived for surgery with three wedding rings that could not be removed from her operative finger, Matt took the time and care needed to delicately cut and remove each ring, one by one.

Throughout the process, Matt was kind, gentle, and compassionate. He took great care to preserve the pieces of the rings so they could be returned to the patient. He also thanked her for her patience and understanding during what could have been a stressful experience.

Matt's willingness to go the extra mile made a meaningful difference for both the patient and the surgeon. His compassion, patience, and dedication are a wonderful example of what it means to be a STAR!

Congratulations, Matt, on this well-deserved recognition!

Pain shooting down your leg isn't always sciatica. Many people experiencing lower back, buttock, hip, or leg pain assume a pinched nerve in the spine is the cause. However, in some cases, the real source of the pain may be the SI joint.

Dr. Saman Farr recently joined KATV Good Morning Arkansas and Steve Powell KATV to discuss how SI joint dysfunction can mimic sciatica and why getting the correct diagnosis is so important when it comes to finding relief. Watch the segment to learn more about the symptoms of SI joint pain, how it differs from sciatica, and the treatment options available.
