Pregnancy can affect your gums too!

Bleeding, swollen, or tender gums are really common during pregnancy because pregnancy hormones increase blood flow and can make your gums more sensitive to plaque.

A few things to know:

Keep brushing and flossing, even if your gums bleed.

If you’re vomiting, rinse your mouth with water or a baking-soda rinse afterward instead of brushing right away.

You can absolutely go to the dentist while pregnant! Routine cleanings, necessary X-rays, local anesthesia, and dental treatment can all be done during pregnancy.

And if your gums are still bleeding after baby arrives, don’t worry! Your hormones don’t instantly return to pre-pregnancy levels after delivery, so it can take some time for your gums to settle down.

Your mouth is part of your pregnancy health, too. 🤍

Research suggests that medical cannabis may help some patients manage chronic pain, neuropathic pain, and other qualifying medical conditions. For certain patients, it may offer an alternative or complementary option to traditional pain management and could potentially reduce reliance on opioid medications. It can also aid with pelvic pain from endometriosis or dysmenorrhea (painful periods).
