In our Article of the Week, we highlight a recent study of associations between -1s and broad menstrual adverse event signals that found:

- Semaglutide generated the broadest menstrual adverse event signal profile in a FAERS analysis of reproductive-aged patients, including heavy bleeding, menstrual clots, and anovulatory cycles.

- Tirzepatide produced signals for intermenstrual bleeding and menstrual clots, while liraglutide generated no significant menstrual signals.

On July 16, CMS published the proposed rule via Federal Register, The Daily Journal of The United States Government, with specific proposal language for the proposed 15 new HCPCS G-codes for CY 2027 related to obstetrics billing.

In part, CMS stated the proposed G-codes would "reflect the previous MMM global code structure… These HCPCS G-codes would adopt all current conditions of payment for the MMM global codes, as well as maintain the MMM global period, if finalized.”
