He was hit by a drunk driver in Nashville and his elbow was destroyed.

At Vanderbilt they gave him a choice: emergency surgery there, or a surgeon back home in Palm Beach. He had already looked her up and booked the appointment before anyone told him it was the same person. He said it was meant to be.

One of the worst elbows Dr. Vani Sabesan had ever seen, plus severe nerve damage. The first surgery did not heal. A revision six months later brought back his full function and turned the nerve damage around, which he never thought would happen.

In her words: we gave him his life back.
