Sometimes the strongest people are the ones silently carrying the most. Healing is not learning how to carry more. It is learning you were never meant to carry it alone.

One of the most powerful moments in therapy is when someone realizes there is more to the story.

What feels like the same argument on repeat often has deeper roots beneath the surface.

For many people, there is tremendous relief in understanding that they are not “too sensitive,” “too emotional,” or “crazy.”

There is usually a reason the same conflict keeps showing up.
Awareness doesn’t solve everything overnight, but it often becomes the first step toward meaningful change.

Sometimes the conflict is not actually about the groceries, the parenting disagreement, or the comment made at dinner.

Many of the patterns that show up in relationships were formed long before the relationship itself began.

What looks like frustration, defensiveness, withdrawal, control, or emotional distance on the surface is often connected to something much deeper underneath it all.

Healing often begins when we stop asking, “What are we fighting about?” and start asking, “What is this conflict touching inside of me?”

What if the argument was never actually about the dishes, the parenting disagreement, or the text message?

This month on the Rooted & Restored Podcast, and .betweensessions are talking about what’s really happening underneath relationship conflict.

In this episode, they explore:
• why we repeat relationship patterns
• how childhood wounds show up in adult relationships
• nervous system reactions and emotional triggers
• separation, repair, and healing
• how conflict impacts children
• why relationships often mirror the parts of ourselves we have not fully healed

This conversation is honest, emotional, challenging, and deeply reflective of the work we see every day inside the therapy room.

Throughout this month, we’ll be sharing clips from this episode that unpack these conversations even further.

Whether you’re dating, married, struggling, healing, rebuilding, or simply trying to better understand yourself and your relationships, we hope this conversation helps you feel less alone.

As we wrap up this month’s conversation, this clip brings us back to one of the most important themes from this episode.

What it looks like to shift from being on opposite sides of the problem to working together toward the same outcome.

When we begin to look beneath the behavior and understand what may be building underneath, it creates space for connection, not just correction.

Throughout this month, .betweensessions and Leanne have explored how curiosity, awareness, and intentional responses can transform the way we show up with our kids.

- As we wrap up this month, this moment brings us back to one of the most important themes we’ve been exploring.

It’s easy to get pulled into opposition when things feel tense.

But often, both sides are responding to the same underlying struggle in different ways.

In this conversation between Leanne and .betweensessions, you can feel the shift that happens when the focus moves from fighting each other to understanding what’s driving the moment.

Because when that shift happens, the relationship changes, not just the outcome.

The right therapist can change everything.

They help you reconnect to who you were before survival mode, burnout, anxiety, heartbreak, trauma, or years of carrying everything alone pulled you away from yourself.

Sometimes healing starts with finally feeling safe enough to slow down, be honest, and realize you do not have to navigate life the way you always have.

This might be the summer you stop just surviving and start creating real change in your relationships, your nervous system, and the way you experience yourself.

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, let this be your sign to take the first step. Schedule your free consultation call today by clicking the link in the bio. 🤍

It’s easy to move quickly into consequence when something goes wrong.

But what often gets missed in those moments is the opportunity to stay connected first.

In this conversation between Leanne and .betweensessions, you can feel the shift from reacting to responding with both presence and intention.

Because connection and boundaries are not opposites.

They are meant to work together.

Time alone doesn’t always create change.

Sometimes what we’re seeing isn’t something that will simply pass, but something that needs support, structure, and consistency to grow.

In this conversation between Leanne and .betweensessions, you can feel the reminder that what we allow and guide today shapes what carries forward.

And over time, those small expectations become the foundation for something more lasting.

There’s something beautiful about safety that cannot be manufactured.

These birds chose to build their nest right outside of Rooted.

And honestly… it felt meaningful.

Because safe spaces are felt.
The nervous system feels them.
The body feels them.
Even nature responds to them.

Our hope has always been that when people walk through our doors, they feel a little less alone, a little more grounded, and a little safer to simply be.
