Phillipa Nichols passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, just weeks shy of her 88th

birthday. She is now reunited in eternity with the love of her life, her beloved husband, George

Nichols, Jr., who passed away on September 12, 2019.

Phillipa’s life was defined by her devotion to her family and the deep, enduring love she shared

with those around her. Her warmth, strength, and spirited presence were the heart of her home,

leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories and a bond that spans generations. While her

family will miss her dearly, they find comfort in knowing she is at peace and once again with her

husband.

Her six loving children survive her: Mark Nichols, Garnett Nichols (James Devine), Phil Nichols,

Scott Nichols, Shawn Nichols (Staci Nichols), and Nicole Moore (Darnell Moore).

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Cameron Clausen, Jordan Clausen, Ryan

Clausen, Justin Nichols, Autumn Nichols, Madison Nichols, Tyler Nichols, Tristian Nichols,

Sophia Nichols, Sebastian Nichols; Nicholas Moore, MacKenze Moore, Sydney Moore, and her

two precious great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Maya Nichols; as well as a host of loving relatives

and close friends.

Kathryn Jane Brew

Surrounded by the love of her family, Kathryn Jane “Kathy” Brew passed away on August 22, 2026, in Sarasota, Florida. She was 78 years old.

Kathy was born on April 21, 1948, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to William and Jane (Powers) Smith. She moved with her family to Garden City, NY, where she grew up alongside her brother, James Smith, and sister, MaryAnn Sullivan, and across the street from the love of her life, Jim Brew. Years later, Kathy and Jim would marry, beginning a remarkable love story that lasted 54 years and remained at the heart of her life.

Kathy began her career as a flight attendant with TWA, where she was among the first flight attendants to fly the 747 out of JFK. Her love of travel and adventure stayed with her throughout her life. As a military wife, she made a home in North Dakota, and in the years that followed, Jim’s career took them to Chicago and Hong Kong before eventually returning them to Garden City.

Amagansett, NY, held an especially meaningful place in Kathy’s heart. For many years, she and Jim spent their summers there, creating some of her happiest memories surrounded by family and friends. Kathy loved to entertain, and Amagansett became a place where her door was always open, the table was always full, and there was never a shortage of family, friends, laughter, and parties. After retirement, Kathy and Jim made Amagansett their year-round home before eventually moving to Sarasota, Florida. Wherever life took her, Kathy had a remarkable ability to turn a house into a home and make the people around her feel welcome and loved.

Being a mother to her three sons was one of the greatest and most defining parts of Kathy’s life. She was endlessly devoted to her boys and was always there, from the countless lacrosse games she attended over the years to the everyday moments in between. She was there to pick them up, lend a helping hand, bend an ear, and, when the occasion called for it, deliver a swift kick in the pants. She was their biggest supporter and took tremendous pride in the men they became.

Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, and truly one of a kind. She was the person you could always count on. She had a smile that could light up a room, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a mischievous streak that made her so much fun to be around. She loved bringing people together and had a gift for making everyone feel like they belonged.

But above all else, Kathy loved her family. Her love was fierce, unwavering, and unconditional. She adored her four granddaughters, Elle, Grace, Avery, and Charlotte. The family dogs, whom she affectionately called her “grand poopies,” brought her endless joy and held a very special place in her heart.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Jim Brew; her three sons, James and his wife, Venessa, Patrick and his wife, Tina, and Brendan and his wife, Jacki; and her four granddaughters, Elle, Grace, Avery, and Charlotte. She was predeceased by her brother, James Smith, and her sister, MaryAnn Sullivan.

There are no words that can fully express how deeply Kathy will be missed. Her love, her laughter, her strength, and her unmistakable spirit will live on in her family, her friends, and in the countless memories shared by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Francis P. Nocella

Mr. Francis P. Nocella of Scranton, Pennsylvania and most recently of North port, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday evening of August 20, 2026 following a brief illness. Born on January 4th, 1939, to the late Frank Nocella Sr. and Mary Nocella Alunni, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Frank served his country for 22 years as a Navy Chief Petty Officer and it was during his service when het met the love of his life in Rota, Spain, Mercedes Ferrer Nocella, who preceded him in death. Reunited in eternal love together, with our eternal family.

Throughout 59 years of loving marriage, Frank and Mercedes had 4 children, John Nocella and his wife Lori, Mary Bell and her husband John, Mercedes Jones and her husband Bruce, and Chari Stevens and her husband Jim. Frank and Mercedes moved to North Port, Florida in the early 2000’s to finish out their retirement in the sun. Frank was also a proud grandfather to 8 grandchildren, James F. Stevens, Elizabeth F. Stevens, Nicholas B. Jones, Mercedes A. Stevens, Ava L. Nocella, Jack R. Nocella, Lola S. Stevens and Gabriel P. Jones.

He was a genuine man who loved his family very much. Known by all for his kind heart and gentle soul. The love he had for his family was immeasurable and he will be greatly missed by all. He is also survived by his older sister, Josephine Hill, his younger brother, Ralph Alunni and extended family here and in Spain. He received a warm heavenly welcome from his younger brother Paul Nocella Sr., brother-in-law, Jack Hill, and his nephew Paul Nocella Jr.

The family would also like to thank the hardworking care team of the Douglas T. Jacobson Veteran’s Home, as well as the team at Tidewell Hospice. The funeral will be a private service at the family’s convenience. Donations to San Pedro Catholic Church and food pantry, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the Navy Safe Harbor Foundations can be sent in lieu of flowers.

Bryan Michael Egan

Bryan Michael Egan, age 49, of North Port, FL, unexpectedly passed away on July 28, 2026. He was born on July 13,1977 in Sarasota, FL.

From an early age, Bryan was a gifted musician, leading to a lifelong career in music. He was the Manager of Sam Ash Music stores in Virginia and North Carolina before returning home to Florida. Bryan’s love of teaching students at Sarasota Academy of the Arts for the past 10 years has been a longtime dream realized. He instilled a love of music and theater while reinforcing a strong work ethic in his students. Bryan was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He will be fondly remembered for his crushing hugs, larger than life personality, and joyful smile. Outside of work, Bryan loved to visit Disney World with his family, quiet time fishing, and singing in the North Port Chorale with his wife and children. Bryan also enjoyed working on the audio/visual team at Englewood Methodist Church and as one of the Music Directors at Players Theater in Sarasota.

Bryan earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management from the State College of Florida and was named Sarasota Academy of the Arts 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year.

Bryan is survived by his wife of 24 years, Melissa, children Nicholas and Makayla, parents Michael and Faye, and sister Erika Davies. He lives on in the hearts of his family, and all those who had the blessing of knowing him.

Bryan’s family is grateful for the outpouring of prayers, kindness, and support shown during this difficult time.

Janet Ann Chase

Janet Ann Chase, age 89, of North Port, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Tidewell Hospice House in Venice, Florida.

Janet was born on May 6, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Laurel and May Burd. She was a resident of Canton, Ohio for many years, where she served as an Administrative Assistant at Church of the Savior. Janet was a devoted member of Simpson United Methodist Church in Canton, Ohio, and later Englewood Methodist Church in Englewood, Florida.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Rex Chase. Their love story began in kindergarten, when they first met, and continued throughout their remarkable life together.

Those left to cherish Janet’s memory include her children, Debra Tipton; Mary (Brian) Smith; Diane (Don) Thomas; and David (Justine) Chase; her nine grandchildren, Lindsay Tipton, Lauren (Matthew) Perdulla, Chadwick Tipton, Matthew (Missy) Smith, Kyle (Andrea) Smith, Dylan Williams, Ryan Cuddihee, Jenna Chase, and Corey Chase; eight great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Richard Burd and Jack (Sharol) Burd.

Janet was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her home was always filled with love and laughter, and her family and friends will forever cherish the many precious memories of special times shared together.

Janet had a special gift for writing short stories and poems. Many people in her life were touched by her thoughtful cards and heartfelt poems, which she lovingly wrote to celebrate special moments and events in their lives. Her words were a beautiful expression of the love she had for those around her and a lasting reminder of how deeply she cared for others. Those who received her heartfelt messages will treasure them always.

Janet’s kindness, creativity, warmth, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed. The memories she created, the love she shared, and the beautiful words she left behind will remain in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.

Family viewing will be held Monday, August 17, at 10:00 a.m. at Farley Funeral Home in North Port, Florida. A service and interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Venice Memorial Gardens in Venice, Florida.

Loree Andersen

**Loree Andersen: A Celebration of a Life Well-Lived**

Loree Andersen, born on April 12, 1953, in Green Bay, WI, passed away suddenly yet peacefully at home on July 23, 2026. Her journey on this earth was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit that touched the hearts of everyone she met.

Born to Clifford and Joyce Andersen, Loree was predeceased by her parents and her cherished cats—Patsy, Roosevelt, Elenor, and Lucy. She is survived by her siblings: sisters Julie (Casey) Larson, Cherie (Scott) Wesa, Kay (Fran) Brueninger, Susie Andersen, and her brother Joe Andersen. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Loree's life was marked by a diverse career journey in Wisconsin. She proudly owned The Silver Dollar Bar in Suamico. When she moved to Florida she was most recently employed at the Walmart Warehouse in Arcadia and retired a few years ago. Yet, it was her volunteer work that truly defined her passion for giving back. She generously donated her time to Agape Flights in Venice, FL and various animal rescues, reflecting her compassion for animals.

Loree found joy in life’s simple pleasures and cherished every opportunity to make lasting memories with those she loved. She enjoyed shopping, relaxing at the beach, expressing her creativity through crafts, and riding motorcycles. She had a special love for the timeless music of Patsy Cline, adored cats and koala bears, and was a Green Bay Packers fan who never missed a chance to cheer on her favorite team. Some of her greatest happiness came from spending time with her two little angels, Maria and Kirsten.

Loree was truly one of a kind. She was a spirited spitfire with a stubborn streak that was matched only by her determination. A mini Cliff, if you will. She spoke her mind, stood up for what she believed in. Beneath her feisty personality was a heart full of love and compassion for those she held dear. She had a sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her strength, wit, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Michael and Rashel for their dedicated care over the years. Special thanks go to Julie and Maria for their compassion and assistance in navigating Loree's health journey in recent years.

Andrew Charles Petrillo

Andrew Charles Petrillo of Venice Florida passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026. He was born on February 12, 1976 in Connecticut to the late Alfred Charles Petrillo and Adrianne Aimi Petrillo. Andrew graduated from North Branford High school before earning his Bachelors degree from University of New Haven. In 2002, he made Florida his home.

A lifelong sports enthusiast Andrew loved playing football and hockey. He also gave back to the sport he loved by officiating youth hockey games as a referee encouraging and supporting youth athletes.

Andrew served as a Juvenile Correctional Officer in Florida. He was a proud member of the ELKS Lodge in Venice. Above all else, Andrew was a devoted brother and uncle who cherished his family.

Andrew is survived by his sister Ami Petrillo Michaud and her husband Brian; his five nieces and nephews ; Natali, Jenna, Brooke, Payton and Brian Jr. And his Great Niece Evelyn Rose. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert Leroy Morrissey

COLONEL ROBERT LEROY MORRISSEY, PH.D., D.V.M., UNITED STATES ARMY (RETIRED)

Colonel Robert Leroy Morrissey, Ph.D., D.V.M., United States Army (Retired), passed away at home in North Port, Florida, on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the age of 86, surrounded by family.

Dr. Morrissey was born on December 17, 1939, in Hillsdale, Illinois, to Michael William Morrissey and Mary Elizabeth Morrissey. He was one of sixteen children. He graduated from Erie High School in Erie, Illinois, earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and later earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from Cornell University.

On November 27, 1959, he married Reta Jean Morrissey. They shared more than sixty-six years of marriage.

Dr. Morrissey served for more than twenty years in the United States Army Veterinary Corps, including both active-duty and Reserve service. He retired as a Colonel. Following his military service, Dr. Morrissey continued his career as a research pathologist.

While attending Cornell University in his mid-twenties, Robert trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, a decision that forever shaped the course of his life. Though he rose from humble beginnings to achieve remarkable academic, military, and professional success, he remained a man of genuine humility who lived well below his means. He measured success not by titles or possessions, but by faithfulness to God, love for his family, and service to others. His quiet generosity, steadfast integrity, and Christlike spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Robert faithfully led his family by example, making it his priority to keep them in church and provide every opportunity for them to grow in a Christian home. His love for the Lord was evident not only in what he believed but in how he lived. Desiring to serve wherever he was needed, he even obtained a commercial driver's license for the sole purpose of driving a church bus, faithfully bringing children to church for many years at several churches. More than anything, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful servant of Christ, and a man whose life consistently pointed others to the Savior he loved.

He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City, Florida.

Dr. Morrissey is survived by his wife, Reta Jean Morrissey; his son, Todd Morrissey and his wife, Lisa; his daughter, Robin Robideau and her husband, James Robideau; his son, David Morrissey and his wife, Dawn; and his son, James Morrissey and his wife, Jennifer. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, his fifteen brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael William Morrissey and Mary Elizabeth Morrissey, and by his great-grandson, Ryan Porter.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City, Florida.

Donald L. Milton

Donald L. Milton, age 75, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, in Venice, Florida.

Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Don lived a life centered on family, friendship, and a lifelong love of hockey. From an early age, the game was one of his greatest passions, bringing him countless hours of enjoyment and creating memories that stayed with him throughout his life including playing and coaching.

Don was predeceased by his beloved parents, Douglas and Esther Milton and his brothers Gerry and Ken.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; his loving children, Brooke (A.J.) and Brett (Katherine); and his cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Ella, Lilliana, and Olivia and Sister Gloria. His family was the greatest joy of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Don will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for hockey, work ethic, humor and the kindness and warmth he shared with those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 1124 Hudson Avenue, Rochester, New York July 9th at 10am. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Don's life.

Ann Patricia Cleere

Ann P. Cleere, 92, of North Port, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 12, 1933, to the late John and Anne Marron, and grew up in Queens, NY.

Ann and her beloved husband, Michael “Mickey,” settled in Old Bridge, New Jersey, in April 1966, where they raised their family and built a lifetime of cherished memories. She worked as a secretary for the Old Bridge Police Chief and previously for Northeastern Airlines taking great pride in her work and friendships along the way.

Ann was the sweetest and kindest person, known for her warm smile, gentle spirit, and infectious laughter. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Michael (Mickey), her son Brian Cleere and her sister Alice Marron. She is survived by her loving family—her son Sean Cleere of North Port, Florida, daughter-in-law Dorie, granddaughter Micaela (Haley), and grandson Callahan (Jessica); her son Michael Cleere of Robbinsville, New Jersey, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, and grandson Gabriel; as well as her two sisters, Marilyn Kelly of Texas and Madeline Clark of Florida.

Ann’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. She loved being their devoted “Nanny”, always eager to hear every detail about their days, accomplishments, and adventures.

She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, including watching her favorite game shows—Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Cash Cab—and often fell asleep to Forensic Files. She had a sweet tooth for vanilla ice cream and especially vanilla milkshakes, small treats that brought her great happiness. She also treasured her lifelong friendship with her pen pal Margie from England, a bond that had grown into a lasting and meaningful friendship.

Ann will be remembered for her kindness, her warmth, and the love she gave so freely to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
