Life After Passing Clinical Exams | Ep. 2

You’ve passed your clinical exams—now what? 👀 It’s time to start thinking about the business side of your career!

One of the biggest decisions you’ll make is whether to start a solo private practice or a group private practice. Both have their advantages, but understanding the differences, responsibilities, and growth opportunities is essential before taking the leap.

Here are a few tips to set yourself up for success:

Understand your vision: Decide whether solo practice or building a group practice aligns with your long-term goals.

Find a mentor or business consultant: You don’t have to figure everything out alone! Seek guidance from someone who understands the business of mental health and can help you navigate the process.

Hire a CPA: Managing your finances, taxes, and business expenses is just as important as providing quality care. Consider partnering with a financial professional who understands your business needs.

Our CEO, Margaret McComiskey, knows firsthand what it takes to build and grow a successful group practice. She has created two seven-figure group private practices and understands the importance of having the right guidance and financial systems in place.

Looking for support with your business finances? Clutch Finance, CPA, CFE is a great resource to help you manage your finances and build a stronger financial foundation for your practice!

Remember, becoming a successful clinician and running a successful business require different skill sets. Invest in yourself, seek guidance, and build a team that supports your vision.

National Stop Bullying Day: Choose Kindness, Stand Against Bullying

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and accepted for who they are. Bullying can have a lasting impact on a person's mental health, self-esteem, and emotional well-being, sometimes in ways we cannot see.

This National Stop Bullying Day, let's remind ourselves that our words and actions matter. Whether it's standing up for someone, offering support to a person who feels alone, or choosing kindness in our everyday interactions, we all have a role in creating safer and more inclusive communities.

Be an upstander, not a bystander. Speak up, show compassion, and remind others that they are never alone.

Together, we can help create a world where kindness is the norm and everyone feels they belong.

ADHD Awareness Week: Understanding ADHD Beyond the Stereotypes

ADHD is more than just being easily distracted or having trouble sitting still. Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can affect focus, organization, time management, emotional regulation, and everyday life.

This ADHD Awareness Week, let’s work together to break down misconceptions, encourage understanding, and create a more supportive environment for individuals living with ADHD.

Remember: Everyone experiences ADHD differently, and having ADHD doesn’t define a person’s potential.

Let’s replace judgment with compassion, stigma with education, and assumptions with understanding.

Celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Today, we honor and celebrate Indigenous peoples, their rich cultures, histories, traditions, and enduring contributions to our communities. It is also a time to recognize the resilience of Indigenous communities, acknowledge the injustices they have faced, and continue learning about their stories and experiences.

At MMTherapy, we recognize the importance of honoring diverse identities, promoting cultural awareness, and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued, and respected.

Let’s celebrate Indigenous voices, honor their heritage, and continue working toward a future rooted in understanding, inclusion, and respect.
