CharterCARE Health of Rhode Island is delighted to announce the creation of a new thoracic surgery program, led by a national leader in this field.

As Chief of Thoracic Surgery and Thoracic Diseases, Dr. McNamee will lead thoracic care at Roger Williams Medical Center and Our Lady of Fatima Hospital.

Dr. McNamee is now accepting new patients at 50 Maude Street in Providence.

Lorrie Miller, an Occupational Therapist at the Southern New England Rehabilitation Center at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, recently prepared a spicy beef pasta dish with a patient as part of his rehabilitation before a successful return home.

Lorrie has been part of CharterCARE Health for more than 10 years and recently transitioned from home care to the inpatient rehabilitation service. Her experience and dedication continue to support meaningful progress and positive outcomes for our patients.

Our Lady of Fatima Hospital celebrated its 100th Inspire procedure today, performed by ENT specialists Dr. John Tarro and Dr. Zachary Quay De La Vallee.

Fatima Hospital was one of the first hospitals in Rhode Island, and the only hospital in the Providence metropolitan area, to begin offering Inspire treatment last year.

Inspire offers an innovative treatment option for people with obstructive sleep apnea who cannot tolerate Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy, working with the body's natural breathing process to help keep the airway open during sleep.

Our Lady of Fatima Hospital is hosting a community Blood Drive with the Rhode Island Blood Center on Tuesday, August 25, at a critical time for our state's blood supply.

According to the Rhode Island Blood Center, the state's blood supply has fallen below a two-day inventory, well below the five to seven days needed to support routine and emergency patient care. All blood types are important, with an especially urgent need for O-negative and O-positive blood.

Aaron, 22, came to Our Lady of Fatima Hospital following a serious injury on the basketball court. When surgery was performed simultaneously by two orthopedic teams, he transitioned to the Southern New England Rehabilitation Center to begin the next stage of his recovery.

When Aaron was admitted to rehabilitation, he was unable to stand and experienced tremendous pain. Through his determination and the support of his care team, he made remarkable progress.

Now, we are proud to share that Aaron walked out on his own and is already dribbling a basketball as he continues his recovery.
