Sit - Stand - No Hands 🙌🏼
✋🏼👋🏼🤚🏼Could THIS simple test tell you something about how well you’re aging? 👀
Apparently, one of the easiest fitness tests requires ZERO equipment.
👉Sit down on the floor… and then stand back up…without using your hands, knees, or anything else for support.
It’s called the Sitting-Rising Test (SRT), and researchers have found that how easily you can do it is linked to things like strength, balance, flexibility and mobility… all of which become increasingly important as we age.
The test is scored out of 10:
⭐️ 5 points for sitting down
⭐️ 5 points for getting back up
➖ Points are deducted for using a hand, knee or other support, or losing balance.
In a study of more than 4,200 adults ages 46–75, lower scores were associated with a higher risk of death during the follow-up period. That doesn’t mean this test can predict exactly how long you’ll live… but it is a pretty fascinating snapshot of how your body is functioning.
And honestly… this is why I think strength, mobility and balance are just as important as the number on the scale.
So now I’m curious… 👇
What would you score? 10/10❓8❓Or would you need a little help getting back up? 😂😱

The sitting-rising test (SRT) measures balance, flexibility, and strength. It predicts lifespan based on the ability to sit and stand without assistance.
