Post-competition reflections…
Today didn’t quite go the way I hoped. I took 4th in the OCB NATURAL BODYBUILDING ™ Lone Star Rising Open, and while that’s not the result I was shooting for, I’m still incredibly proud of the package I brought to the stage. 💪
Could I be better? Absolutely. Will I get better? Absolutely.
I was hoping to compete against my peers—natural athletes around my age. Instead, I was by far the oldest competitor in my class. The other guys were significantly younger; I easily could have been the dad of anyone I was standing next to on stage! 😂
So, I didn’t beat all of the kids… but I proved I could compete with them. And at 47, I’m pretty damn proud of that.
More than anything, though, I want to thank my family and friends, as well as my patients, for supporting me through this bodybuilding journey. The early mornings, the meal prep, the dieting, the training, the posing, the crazy competition schedule—it takes a lot of patience and understanding from the people around you. I’m incredibly grateful to have people in my corner who support me and my bodybuilding ventures. ❤️
Now, there’s no time to dwell. I’m 6 weeks out from the Rich Palmer NPC Texas Natural Championships and 12 weeks out from my final planned competition of the year, the Ben Weider Naturals Pro/Am Ben Weider Masters Nationals—where I’ll definitely be competing against guys in my own age group.
Time to get back on track with the diet, training, and posing. Learn from today. Make adjustments. Get better every single day.
The journey continues. And I’m just getting started. 🔥
