Qualifications:

Work hours:
✅11pm-7am
✅24-32 hours/week
✅Rotating weekends, awake shift

Our Residential Assisted Living is currently seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver at our North Saint Paul home. The Resident Care Assistant will provide direct personal cares such as toileting, bathing, grooming and assist with instrumental activities of daily living such as medication administration, homemaking and meal preparation. We provide hands-on training.

Fluency in Hmong is required.

3-11pm & 4-11pm.
20-30 hours/ week.
Rotating weekends.

Pa, one of our co-owners and a nurse, wears multiple hats, including licensed Assisted Living Director and Clinical Nurse Supervisor/DON. Her extensive healthcare experience encompasses cardiac telemetry inpatient care and community care coordination. Additionally, she serves as a Public Health Nurse. Her clinical expertise brings a wealth of knowledge and best practices to residential care in the group home setting, ensuring our residents' safety. What sets us apart is our clinical background in healthcare, enabling us to provide superior care to our residents and promptly recognize changes in their health. Consequently, our residents receive timely and efficient care, leading to improved health outcomes and quality of life.

One might wonder how can assisted living facilities better support first-generation Southeast Asian seniors—particularly Hmong, Lao, Thai, and Karen communities—and their families?

Research shows many families delay assisted living due to cultural stigma, often viewing it as abandonment rather than care. Yet studies consistently find seniors in assisted living experience improved safety, health outcomes, and social engagement.

For close-knit communities, the challenge is not just access. It’s trust and understanding. Bridging this gap requires culturally competent care, language access, and family-inclusive models that position assisted living as a partnership, not a replacement for family support.

At Passion Care Homes, our goal is to bridge that gap and provide culturally appropriate care to our aging community so that individuals can continue to thrive at their optimal potential and maintain a quality of life.
