Bewitched of Scituate "Bewitched" is the home of an authentic witch emporium and Psychic Medium Witch Roxanne Jasparro! I will always be eternally grateful.

I'm a Psychic Medium, Pet Psychic Medium, Reiki Master Teacher, and an artist. I started my journey as a child with gifts that no one understood except my grandmother Mary, aka Grams the Witch. She told me I was a witch and taught me to believe in myself and the magic within me and the universe. A trip to Salem, Massachusetts in 2012 with my best friend Tara, wearing a custom witch hat I made for

myself, started my journey. Everyone we saw asked if it was for sale. That's when I got the idea to make and sell them. Salem was my grandmother's favorite place, my Aunt Barbara's, and now mine. When my grandmother took her trips to Salem, she always brought me home something witch-related, either a book or item from Laurie Cabot's store, since I could remember. Now I create one-of-a-kind witch hats and items in memory of her. I'm part of the Salem Massachusetts Arts Association and sold my hats in Enchanted in Salem, where Laurie Cabot sells her creations. Her daughter Penny Cabot was the first to buy a witch hat from me. I went from selling in Salem to doing readings and selling my items at home parties to now having my own shop, "Bewitched of Scituate," where healing can be provided and beautiful energy items from myself and local artists are sold. Everything in my shop is handmade or vintage creations. I have a holistic area with herbals and stones. I hold classes on all subjects & special guest appearances. I do private, group, and phone readings. I brought a little bit of my Salem, Massachusetts family history to the charming town of Scituate Village.

~ Honoring the Feminine Figures of this Season in Ancient Tradition and Folklore ~

✨La Befana✨

The ancient origins of Befana may be connected to the Sabine/Roman goddess Strenia who presided over the new year, purification, and well-being. It was customary to exchange gifts on January 1st, at a festival in honour of Ianus and Strenia (in Italian a Christmas gift used to be called strenna). Befana also has many similarities to Berchta, of the pre-Christian Alpine regions.

In later times, this winter weather diety was woven into Christian tradition in this story: When the three magi were traveling eastward, they were stopped by an old woman with a broom who asked where they were going. They told her they were following a star that would lead them to a newborn babe who would grow to redeem the world, and invited her to come along. The old woman replied that she was too busy sweeping and cleaning to go. Later she regretted her decision, and during the first week of January, she continues to wander about Italy, searching for the child, and leaving gifts for good children, and coal or ash for children who need improvement.

Bewitched will be closed today! Updates to come on this upcoming year and what Bewitched will have in store. This witch has had a transformative year and can’t wait to move out of this year into the next with lots of new branches.
