****EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT****
Nikki Toney, AAS, B.S.
Nikki Toney is a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute (CCC&TI). She is passionate about helping children develop their communication skills while building the confidence they need to express themselves effectively.
Nikki believes that every child learns at their own pace and is committed to creating a fun, encouraging, and supportive environment where progress is celebrated every step of the way. She values building meaningful relationships with families and collaborating closely with speech-language pathologists and other professionals to help each child reach their fullest potential. Her philosophy is simple: progress over perfection, because every small achievement is an important milestone worth celebrating.
Before becoming an SLPA, Nikki gained valuable experience working as a preschool teacher, where she developed a strong understanding of early childhood development and the importance of learning through play. She also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where she cultivated patience, compassion, and the ability to provide individualized care for people with diverse needs.
In addition to her SLPA education, Nikki earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Appalachian State University. This diverse educational background has strengthened her understanding of human behavior, communication, and the importance of meeting each individual where they are in their personal journey.
As a member of the NewCastle Speech Services team, Nikki is dedicated to partnering with families to help children build the communication skills they need to thrive at home, in school, and in their communities. She considers it a privilege to be part of each child's journey and looks forward to celebrating every milestone alongside the children and families she serves.
