As a physician, I often have the privilege of being the face patients see. But the truth is, exceptional care is never the work of one person.

Our annual AIANE company picnic was an opportunity to pause, step away from the busy pace of medicine, and simply say thank you to the remarkable team that makes our mission possible. Every member of our practice plays a vital role in the care we provide, and I am grateful for the compassion, professionalism, and dedication they bring each day.

🌫️ Canadian Wildfire Smoke Is Reaching Massachusetts

You may notice hazy skies, a smoky smell, or irritation in your eyes, nose, throat, or lungs. Wildfire smoke can worsen asthma, allergies, and other breathing conditions, even in people who do not usually have respiratory symptoms.

To help reduce exposure:

• Check the local Air Quality Index before spending extended time outdoors
• Keep windows closed when the air smells smoky
• Use air conditioning on recirculate when possible
• Run a HEPA air purifier indoors
• Limit strenuous outdoor activity during periods of poor air quality
• Consider a well-fitting N95 mask if you must be outdoors for an extended period

Patients with asthma should keep rescue inhalers available and follow their asthma action plan.

Seek urgent medical attention for severe shortness of breath, chest pain, bluish lips, confusion, or symptoms that are rapidly worsening.
