Two major news outlets recently highlighted the impact of trauma and the potential for healing. Our director, Dr. Ricky Greenwald, was interviewed for both articles.

The Wall Street Journal published a powerful first-person account from a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist describing how EMDR helped him overcome trauma that had affected him for decades:
https://www.wsj.com/health/wellness/the-enigmatic-therapy-that-saved-my-life-0aba29ee?st=jLrXg2

CNN published an article on coping after trauma, discussing common reactions to traumatic experiences and the importance of seeking support and effective treatment:
https://www.cnn.com/2026/05/27/health/coping-after-trauma-wellness

It's encouraging to see growing awareness that trauma can have a profound impact on our lives—and that effective, evidence-based treatments can help people heal and move forward.

For people who witness a horrific event, experts stress the importance of processing trauma immediately through talking, writing and self-care.
