BACK TO SCHOOL WRITING BOOTCAMP
When: July 29 – August 9, 2024
Monday/Wednesday/Friday - same time for all sessions
1 hour sessions (6 sessions total); individual and dyads are available as appropriate
*Time to be determined by student/therapist schedule
Where: Comprehensive Speech and Language Pathology LLC clinic office
Teletherapy is available
Who: Students across all grade levels (K-12).
This writing program will introduce participants to the Hochman Method AKA “The Writing Revolution”, an explicit set of sequenced strategies for learning expository writing that can be integrated into any content. Specific strategies will be presented to improve the structure, coherence, and clarity of students’ writing beginning at the sentence level. The focus moves to outlines, paragraphs, and compositions. Participants will also engage in lessons on note-taking, summarization, and revision.
Amy Sapienza M.S., CCC/SLP will be providing this intervention, who has been trained in using this methodology. This intervention will provide opportunities to practice and create activities as well as receive feedback at their sessions. (https://www.thewritingrevolution.org/).
