As parents, when your child is having big emotions, the first instinct is to try and fix it or stop the emotion in some way. Helping your child contain/feel the emotion can be difficult but incredibly rewarding, for both of you.🫂

⏱️One way to start changing your reaction or instinct is to slow down your reaction time, rather than rush to “fix” the emotion, stay present and curious and see what comes up.

And remember to have grace with yourself! It is both painful to witness our children deal with hard feelings and to do things we might not have learned to do ourselves. ❣️

If you are interested in working with children, keep an eye on our website and socials for an upcoming On Demand Training on play therapy. 🤸
