So far, I have received calls from several of the nurses who remained current in the lawsuit - some sweet amounts have been reported! I am so very happy that after year of trying to convince NFFE (which never happened) and locating an attorney (which really did happen) I was proven correct - those 30 minutes really do belong to the employees not management. What I want everyone to remember this doesn't end with the settlement - now the VA knows they have to provide "Unencumbered meal breaks" or they have to pay overtime for your missed breaks. Remember in order to have a proper lunch break you have to be released from your responsibilities. Also, they cannot require another nurse to assume those responsibilities in addition to their full assignment. Don't let them get away with stealing your time! If anyone who received a settlement has a minute give me a call and just let me know you stayed the course! thank you all for believing that I was right and for fighting for what was rightfully yours!

Sad to find out that approximately 100 people who were part of this action failed to complete the requested paperwork and therefore had to be dropped
