It is imperative that you throw away your contact lenses as directed, whether it’s after 1 day, 2 weeks, or 1 month. The time clock starts from when you open the package. AND you’re still supposed to change the storage solution every day. Overextending the lenses and topping off solution vastly increases your risk of infection and vision loss. Take it from someone who goofed up their eyes from being a naughty contact lens wearer.

Not gonna lie, there are tough patients. But the majority of these patients need more patient education, additional testing, and typically have other eye conditions going on. You should leave your eye exam feeling heard, informed, and empowered. Unfortunately, in our healthcare system you have to be your best advocate. Find a doctor that supports you best.
