My experience with the Andbe Home and The Andbe Home Acres was a positive one.
Your staff really cares about that mission of caring for people and I found that to be a very comforting thing during my mother's stay at your facilities.
When my mom passed quietly in her room at the Andbe Home, the staff were all tearing up-they showed that her passing was not just a resident dying, but someone they knew and cared about being taken from them. That really touched me!
Administrator has created this loving and caring environment through their own compassion and devotion to this place, these ideals, and these people.
And I can tell that you hire staff for their heart as well as their skills and training.
I have new respect for what your team does and how they do it.
While I was eating breakfast in a restaurant in Norton recently, I overheard an elderly woman telling others how she wanted to stay in her home as long as possible. That is the very same view my mom had for the last five years. How I wish I could rewrite those five years and convince my mom sooner to stop living alone so she could be with people during her later years. When she finally moved to The Andbe Home Acres (under protest, as a trial period) she met friends, had better meals, had help with showering and dressing, and, frankly, lived a better life. Being with others like her taught her ways of coping and helped her to feel the dignity of living with aging and its constant challenges.
And how she enjoyed the social time sitting on The Andbe Home Acres front porch with her friends and counting the trucks that drove by!
How I wish I could help that lady in the restaurant, and others like her, to see those last years differently. I am convinced she would be happier were she to join a community like The Andbe Home Acres.
The Andbe Home Acres made such a difference in my mom's life. I just cannot imagine the sadness we would have experienced had my mom continued to live alone, to eat alone, and to probably die alone.
Truly, there is a sad crisis of loneliness in America among older adults. Yes, they have the pride of staying in their home, but at what cost? We are not meant to be alone, to live alone, to die alone.
Thank you for the mission you have taken on--to help our older sisters and brothers to live a full life right up to the end.
