Juvenile Arthritis Awareness 💙

Arthritis isn't just an adult condition. Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) is the most common type of arthritis in children under the age of 16. It occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy joints, causing inflammation, pain, swelling, and stiffness.

Common signs to watch for include:
🦴 Joint pain or limping, especially in the morning
💙 Swollen or stiff joints
🌡️ Recurring fevers, rash, or swollen lymph nodes
🚶 Difficulty with movement or changes in activity levels

Early diagnosis and treatment are key to helping protect growing joints, reducing pain, and preventing long-term complications. With the right care, many children with JIA can stay active, thrive, and enjoy the activities they love.

This Juvenile Arthritis Awareness, let's help spread the word, recognize the signs, and support children and families living with JIA. Early recognition can make a lifelong difference. 💙

July is National Cleft & Craniofacial Awareness and Prevention Month.

Every year, thousands of babies are born with craniofacial birth defects, including cleft lip, cleft palate, craniosynostosis, and microtia. While the causes of many of these conditions are unknown, research has shown that smoking during early pregnancy increases the risk of babies being born with a cleft lip or cleft palate.

If you're planning a pregnancy or think you may be pregnant, quitting smoking as early as possible can help give your baby the healthiest start.

Together, we can raise awareness, support families, and help prevent avoidable birth defects.

July is UV Safety Awareness Month! ☀️

Summer is the perfect time to get outside—but it's also the perfect time to protect your skin. UV rays can damage your skin year-round, even on cloudy days, increasing your risk of skin cancer.

This July, remember to:
🧴 Wear broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 15+ or higher)
🕶️ Protect your eyes with UV-blocking sunglasses
👒 Wear a wide-brimmed hat and protective clothing
🌳 Seek shade, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
📱 Check the daily UV Index before spending time outdoors

A few simple sun-safe habits can make a lifetime of difference. Protect your skin today for a healthier tomorrow! 💛
