1 confirmed case of Measles in Christian County and evidence of a suspected outbreak. So... know the symptoms: High fever, rash, sore throat, cough, muscle aches, tiredness, runny nose, blood shot eyes, red spots in the mouth, & diarrhea. If your experiencing these come get tested immediately for yourself and to protect people around you.

On Aug. 13, 2026, Kentucky health officials confirmed a case of measles in Christian County. This is the first confirmed case of measles in a Kentucky resident since January.

The individual was not vaccinated against measles and is believed to have been exposed through contact with an out-of-state visitor from a community with an ongoing measles outbreak.

Additional unconfirmed reports of measles have led health officials to suspect an outbreak.

Measles is a highly contagious respiratory virus that can cause serious health complications, especially in young children. Vaccination is the best protection against measles. The measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe, effective, and widely available in Kentucky.
